Buffy The Vampire Slayer
Blonde, bouncy Buffy is your typical high school cheerleader-- her goal is to "marry Christian Slater and die" and nothing gets in her way when it's time to shop. But all that changes when a strange man informs her she's been chosen by fate to kill vampires. With the help of a romantic rebel, Buffy is soon spending school nights protecting L.A. from Lothos, the Vampire King, his sidekick. Lefty and their determined gang of bloodsuckers. It's everything you'd expect from a teen queen in the Valley.

Having them talk about the death of their parents is an interesting choice I wasn't a huge fan of these segments but it does lead to some deeper reflections. What struck me was how similar so many of the subjects turned out. Characters like Neil who stand out are the most interesting.

Now I see that the morally grotesque figure - Beetlejuice - is hard to watch even as a male adult. Finally, the development of the plot seems to simply stall for at least the first half. I expected Beetlejuice to play a more primary and upbeat role, but, alas this is Burton's work after all. Still, the development of the plot felt unsatisfying.
