Linda R (nl) wrote: this is a cute family movie. lighthearted not overly funny but comical in its own way :) kind of predictable though.

Caley K (de) wrote: Outstanding. Suspenseful with a good twist at the end.

Daisy M (es) wrote: La Belle Noiseuse took me 2 days to finish it. Simple it was a 4 hour movie and wanted to take my time to watch it complete and take every detail the movie brought with it. The main point of the movie was to provide a sight of the burdens of an artists as he created art. The challenge, conflict, sacrifice, frustration, and other expressions and emotions were portrayed. Many people would find this movie boring. It's a matter of taste I guess. I found the long sections of the artist sketching his model extremely admirable. The scenes between Piccoli and Bart were fascinating, because their relationship maintained professional..Emmanuelle Bard was beautiful, shy, uncomfortable with being nude, but as the hours progress into days, she felt comfort.Brilliant.

Matt W (ru) wrote: I don't know why this isn't on DVD yet. It's goofy, silly, and over the top, and Martin Short is a riot.

Danny R (ca) wrote: A stylish, intelligent and surreal drama of horror on an epic scale. It tells the tale of a pack of mysterious superwolves living among us, older than man, with superior senses, extraordinary intelligence, and incredible power they prey on the sick, the weak, the dregs of society, until the secret of their extstence is threatened, then these cunning breasts become a force so deadly that nothing can stop them, they can kill anyone, anywhere, there is no defense. New York City Detective Dewey Wilson, played in a brilliant, intense understated style by Albert Finney, is called in to investigate the mutilation murders of a billionaire real-estates tycoon and his wife in Manhattan's Battery Park, as Wilson looks deeper he discovers a terrible pattern of killings that stretches to the South Bronx, people are disappearing and turning up in pieces at the city morgue. But a group of Native Americans inform Wilson that a superior species known as "Wolfen" by them, are living and hunting in the ghettos of New York City. Deft performances from a stellar supporting cast that includes the late Gregory Hines in an impressive film debut , Dick O'Neill, Diane Venora, Edward James Olmos, and Tom Noonan. Excellently directed by Michael Wadleigh, who shows us the world as it looks and sounds through the super sight and hearing of the "Wolfen" using a stunning combination of computerized optical effects, digital recording techniques, with Steadicam and camera crane moves never before possible. Filmed on location throughtout the New York area, it includes powerful scenes shot in the South Bronx, where production designer Paul Sylbert erected the largest set ever built for a New York film, the haunting burnt-out church which serves as the Wolfen's lair. Ingenious cinematography by Gerry Fisher, this is a chilling and uniquely satisfying entertainment. Highly Recommended.

Lauri L (br) wrote: Documentary of last days of directore Nicholas Ray. It is sort of collebrative effort so that the whole film crew is credited as film makers. Wim Wenders is very much in the film and it doesn't follow any certain form and this makes it fresh and it hits emotional core of mine.

Rodney E (de) wrote: This was a staple on WPWR and I am glad that I caught it as a kid. It is mediocre as mediocre can be but I would recommend it if you are bored on a Sunday afternoon.

Mandy W (nl) wrote: Great all star cast, great visuals and costumes but I'd have to say that the Toby Dammit part was the best.

Cameron F (us) wrote: 10 years before Paul Walker was an undercover street racer driving with Vin Diesel Keanu Reeves was an undercover surfer hanging with Patrick Swayze. This is a fun action movie with with little cheesy dialogue.Keanu Reeves and Patrick Swayze are a fun storm of awesomeness together. No faith in the remake.

Richard C (fr) wrote: Mother's Day is, I think, my second Troma film, and more and more am I realizing that Troma is about independce and sleaze. It concentrates on one concept and hops to the next one as if with a mind of its own. The opening, for example, is a jolting start to a real fucked up story, but then, it's about the firendship of women, but no, it's next about an irritating deranged family of kidnappers, etc. It was like channel surfing for me, but what's good is that only one portion dragged on - the rest were acceptable. As is usual, laughable props, and atrocious acting are present as the Troma trademarks of priceless cheapness. I wonder if this is perchance a partial inspiration to the Descent. Oh, and if you don't like Troma and what it stands for, this film is getting a high caliber remake, or so it seems, so you can view this movie with decent production.
