Anna C (mx) wrote: Ed Harris is way over the line, but it's always a pleasure to watch and that's all I can say about this western...

Ana L (fr) wrote: I saw a bit of the beginning and it was really boring.

Richard D (ru) wrote: Here's a movie that could have failed ... very easily. It's partly a cop action film, but those elements of the plot are really bland, by-the-numbers stuff involving drug smuggling, warehouses, bearer bonds ... all stuff that shows up a million times in the 80s in bland, genre fare. It's also a comedy, but quite a lot of the scripted comedy is only okay. If this film had been made with someone like Jim Belushi, it would have been utterly forgettable. It's often said that you can't save mediocre material by putting the right people in it, but I submit this as a counter-example. Murphy at his peak with this great supporting cast, a great director, and Simpson/Bruckheimer's big-money professional gloss turns this into a really great film.

Toshiko K (es) wrote: The last scene was unexpected but very just like Agatha. (But this is not real story, estimated. )I like her dresses in this film. they were 1920's style. Sometime I want to go to the place,Harrogate! My birthday is the same as her, September 15. I have not read her books a lot but I'm curious about her and her life recently.

John Y (br) wrote: Cute, funny movie that the whole family will enjoy.

Dan S (fr) wrote: Very odd performances, particularly from Laird Creagar as the Detective. He was only 24 years old when he made it but looked mid-40s at least and died only five years later. Who thought Victor Mature should be a movie star?

Scott S (us) wrote: Here Comes Mr. Jordan (1941) -- [5.0] -- Claude Rains is gold in all his scenes as the god-like Mr. Jordan, but I find the movie's playfully fatalistic view of love and self-purpose too saccharine to swallow. Robert Montgomery is also good as the deceased boxer who, due to heavenly oversight, gets the opportunity to rejoin the living by possessing the bodies of freshly dead strangers. The film was nominated for several Academy Awards, including best picture and best actor for Montgomery, and won the Oscar for best screenplay. There have been two remakes: "Heaven Can Wait" with Warren Beatty and "Down to Earth" with Chris Rock.
