James K (mx) wrote: Based on the true event of Russian invasion of Georgia during the Summer Olympics Game of 2008, the movie presented a journalistic atmosphere revolving around a journalist and a Georgian woman he became attracted to. Together with the crew of reporters they witnessed an act of war crime and were sought after, among all civilians by the invading mecenaries, who came with helicopters and tanks. A small group of soldiers and unlikely events help make this a movie where the hero will just not die. This film is to be recommended neverthelss because of its cinematography that forced all the suffering, desolation and cruelty of wars in your face. It's easy to read a news piece but difficult to put it into perspective. This film helps you visualise what it meant to be war-torn. I happened to view this film when Russia is at it again, this time at Crimea in Ukraine. And dare I say the film is also well-scripted for a "war movie"!"I believe that all the trials that we face lead us to our purpose."

Frances H (us) wrote: Deeply moving and profound story, even if very sad and fictional, I can see why the author felt that this was the best movie version of any of his books, although I also liked Slaughterhouse Five, whose mood was much lighter. Although I was never a Nick Nolte fan, his performance in this movie was outstanding. Although not really a movie just for entertainment, it had some very real truths about life, war , politics, and what makes life worth living,

Mike H (jp) wrote: Ah yes, there are subtitles in this movie but the whole story and feel of the movie is great. Agnieska Holland is truly a great story teller. Gregoir Colin gives a compelling performance. A must see for the art house admirers.

Dustin D (es) wrote: Not remotely related to anything Christopher Nolan's done. This is an ultra low-budget horror about high-school student Meg Tilly spending the night in a mausoleum as part of an initiation. And that mausoleum just happens to be the resting place of a deceased evil psychic who refuses to take "dead" for an answer.Tilly is wasted as she spends most of the film wandering around or sleeping. Things pick up when the mean girl clique sneaks in to scare her and gets mauled by some laughably 'reanimated' rolling corpses (clearly made of plastic). At least it has Adam West in a small role.

Derek W (mx) wrote: Sharp writing and an abundance of memorable characters make this an inspirational and hilarious ride.

James M (nl) wrote: It was OK. Seen a lot worse. Not as bad as the critics say although strange that nobody has yet made a proper film about the main man

James H (it) wrote: Money Monster had an electrifying pace with an urgent sense (as it near enough takes place in real time) which made it a joy to watch. It reminded me a lot of phone booth except this had a lot more politics going on around it which at times slowed it down, but gave the film more context and explanation. The direction is solid from Foster and the tension is built carefully (although the score was below average). The performances were good, George Clooney showed off his range and Julia Roberts was good as a calming influence. Jack O'Connell was very believable, I liked him a lot. Some little details in this film let it down but on a Saturday evening, this is a fun and entertaining watch. It has a rewatchability that I didn't expect.
