Stevenson M (us) wrote: Very enjoyable. I don't smoke but I like the story. Acting was good especially for Miriam. Love her and shawn wasn't bad either.

As Ellie learns to take charge, the residents also come to terms with their own troubles. My Thoughts: "I found it to be a charming, quirky, funny little dramedy. Loved the characters and their interactions with each other. It's well acted with some great aged actors. I love old people, especially when their feisty and quirky like this bunch. But near the end it gets very sentimental which was very sweet to watch as they come together and unite as a family. It was a great little film to help pass the time."

Caitlin L (ag) wrote: It had its funny moments. Loved the ending.

Mark B (us) wrote: Horrible. The pedestrian "gangsta" premise & dialogue are horrific. The rapping is as rhythmic as someone singing opera over a speed metal track. Terrance Howard doesn't BEGIN to save this piece of garbage. Do N O T waste your time on this abomination.

Steph S (ag) wrote: im really not a fan of sport films. They usually all have the same main story to it.

Zaw M (us) wrote: Oh love this movie so much. One of my childhood's best memory.

Amanda F (br) wrote: I believe this is a female version of Flowers for Algernon. A fantastically sweet film. Wonderfully acted.

Frances H (ag) wrote: Might have appreciated this flick more if I had any interest in baseball. Just an okay romcom. Not really as great as this score.

Eliana N (nl) wrote: Por supuesto, una peli de navidad que vale la pena.

Phillip N (br) wrote: Mack Sledge is a former country music star, now living in a bottle, who rocks up at a Texas Motel, owned by Tess Harper. When he emerges from his cabin two days later, fresh from a drunken stupor, he realises that the friend who came with him has left him there with no money, and with a bill to pay. This is the story of how earning his keep at the Motel gives him the chance to earn some self respect, and to receive acceptance. His relationship with Harper's son, Sonny (Allan J. Hubbard) is an allegory for him being forgiven past mistakes, as it seems that he is the judge of this man's worthiness. Wonderfully evocative of an old country world. Robert Duvall is a revelation as a singer, and Betty Buckley is a vocal powerhouse as Mack's ex-wife.Take the time to relax with this film.

Kimmy H (ag) wrote: One of the best comedies ever!!!!

Danny S (mx) wrote: I understood it but wasn't completely taken in by it. It ran too long at three hours. McDowell plays an interesting character as usual.

Luca V (br) wrote: This storyline had the potential to be a hit, however all this potential glory was butchered when the worst actors and actresses alive on this planet were shoved into the movie along with the most cheesy and clichd script ever written. Since when do high schoolers look like they are in their mid to late 20s??

Aude S (kr) wrote: I had (probably overly) high expectations of the movie given that Sean Penn was the lead. My partner and I found his deliquescent voice supremely irritating (if not impossible to understand) 5 minutes into the movie. His portrayal of a retired ex-goth star utterly fails to convince as it falls immediately into a non-researched caricature that has very little to do with actual goths (admittedly with the exception of the Robert Smith's wig). We gave up after about 50 minutes. All in all, not worth bothering with.

Steve R (gb) wrote: Not a politically correct but very well done.
