I really think anyone could have watched this film and got something out of it. It makes you really realize and appreciate what you good things you do have in life.

(it) wrote: Love this movie. The pace of this film can't even be classified as being 'hyper-realistic.' Tom Tykwer is the director and he presents quite a few interesting ideas throughout the film. The 'fast-forward-still-frame-timeline,' (For those who have seen the film) is a very unique take on the ol' 'Butterfly Effect' theory. This film has a relatively light feel to it, though the subject matter is of a more serious nature. It will never lose your attention provided you don't mind subtitles.

(mx) wrote: This film examines the troubled ten-year marriage of a tempestuous couple, moving about in time and place to paint a complete picture. Initially, the chronological jumping around is disconcerting and confusing. Eventually, however, the episodes add up to something interesting, providing an absorbing portrait of the rise and fall of a love affair. Donen goes a bit overboard with his cinematic tricks, trying too hard to be chic. Hepburn and Finney are excellent as the sparring couple. The scenes involving their friends (Bron and Daniels) are quite amusing. The latter couple has what is probably the most obnoxious, spoiled child ever put on film.

(it) wrote: When this film came out, it was a complete surprise. The plot isn't very original, but that doesn't matter, because it's funny and has heart. It's not as clever as Best in Show, but has enough smarts to blend satire with adulation for the subject matter.
