The first feature-length documentary film to fully investigate the growing threat to Earth's life-support systems from the loss of biodiversity. If current trends continue, scientists warn that half or more of all plant and animal species on Earth will become extinct within the next few decades. Call of Life investigates the scope, the causes, and the predicted effects of this unprecedented loss of life, but also looks deeper, at the ways in which both culture and psychology have helped to create and perpetuate the situation. The film not only tells the story of a crisis in nature, but also in human nature, a crisis more complex and threatening than anything human beings have ever faced before.

This pre-TWILIGHT romantic Horror film finds trouble balancing the two genres, and often delivers more unintentional humor than terror or suspense while forging several regretful similarities to AN AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN PARIS. The unconvincing cast causes the film to fall flat on more than one occasion, especially throughout the passionless performances by the two young lovers. In the rush to introduce the players and establish the growing conflict within the pack, director Katja von Garnier neglects to develop any form of rapport between Agnes Bruckner and Hugh Dancy, and even less of an emotional connection between the characters and the audience. What we are left with is a Horror movie without any scares, and a Romance that is rife with cliches, but lacking in true love.

The town tries to overcome this historical fact by throwing a huge town event that will end with a dance. Shortly after festivities begin, so do the murders."You know what would look good on you?""What?""Me.""Suck it in and zip it up."George Mihalka, director of Bullet to Beijing, Dr. Lucille, Sticks and Stones, Watchtower, Thunder Point, Relative Fear, Straight Line, and The Psychic, delivers My Bloody Valentine. The storyline for this picture is clich and very straightforward. The kill scenes were classic slasher film from the 8os feel and the acting was mediocre. The cast includes Paul Kelman, Lori Hallier, Alf Humphreys, Cynthia Dale, Helene Udy, and Thomas Kovacs."I've got a Valentine for her she's never going to forget."This was recently added to the Netflix on line queue so I added it to the wish list. This was very average, didn't add many unique elements to the slasher genre outside of the setting, and the kill scenes were not great. This is only worth seeing if you're a fan of the genre."It can't be happening again!"Grade: C-
