Manny J (mx) wrote: Very quriky and wierdly executed movie. I enjoyed watching the movie even though the entire time watching I knew this would end badly. Radcliffe seams o have a penchant for bad endings. I hate an unreasonably sappy hollywood ending when it's not logical

Joe W (es) wrote: A fun and touching film. It's nice that whilst you often get social-political films that use kids as an innocent voyeur on the world around them: this film is very much about the kids who's adventure is only ever interrupted by the politics of 70s Ireland. A nice ode to the joy of children's imagination even when they live in shitty times.

Lady D (de) wrote: Despite not having too many creative fight scenes, it was a very easy watching film. I liked the comic sidekick in this film the most.

Andrew L (ag) wrote: Most of the movie is taken up with Columbus' attempt to persuade Spain to finance his voyage and the actual journey itself, the last forty minutes deal with his arrival at what he named San Salvador. Lacks any real character and could pass for a fictional adventure movie, anyway it killed a few hours.

Bob W (au) wrote: Attenborough's take on Churchill's book, My Early Life, which covers South African war campaign with some unconvincing battle and charge scenes, fine performances by Shaw and Bancroft of his parents and lot of speeches. The director would more fully perfect his biopic craft in Ghandi.

Patryk C (fr) wrote: House by the River is one of those noir movies that perfectly fit into the horror genre. Its sombre atmosphere, macabre feel, use of light and shady cinematography compose a masterful amount of greatly thrilling and scary sensations. Stephen Byrne murders his maid, and then asks his brother John for help with burying the body in the nearby river. After a series of accidents, its John who's blamed for the girl's death. What's more, Stephen is perfectly ok with that and even starts to write a book about this horrifying case. Its a good brother vs. evil brother showcase of the most electrifying kind. Fritz Lang's under-appreciated work.

rur B (kr) wrote: Surpasses the original in every way: Better style, better visuals, better camera work, better effects, better story, better action scenes, creative new and cool looking villain and an epic finale battle. This movie is simply put: The best Blade movie.
