Despite the lack of skills and resources, soccer-mom out lasts these PUNKS who stumble and bubble themselves into early graves.Another REALLY, REALLY, REALL bad movie.
Dann M (us) wrote: Eight Legged Freaks is an atrociously bad creature feature that tries to homage the classic low-budget sci-fi films of the '50s. When a group of spiders are exposed to toxic waste they grow to gigantic proportions and attack a small town in the middle of the desert. David Arquette, Kari Wuhrer, Doug E. Doug, and Scarlett Johansson star, but the characters are little more than one-dimensional stereotypes. The special effects aren't that bad, but most of it's poorly staged. Unfortunately, Eight Legged Freaks fails completely, both as a B-movie and as a satire of a B-movie.

Jere M (fr) wrote: the only good thing about this movie is that it is no longer in my Netflix queue. The script was absolutely horrendous with all forms of character development removed so that there was no sense as to why the character's opinions changed during the course of the story. The characters within the story were poorly imagined with a bunch of supposedly powerful people incapable of making decisions and afraid to talk on telephones, just really odd. The acting was actually not too bad, but I just could not get past the other deficiencies to really care.

For some undecipherable mystic reason, the leading ladies of his movies give their life and soul to it and deliver a stunning performance, becoming the soul reason for which his movies run in the first place!

Troy F (it) wrote: Conquest Of The Planet Of The Apes is a good one, and also significantly darker. The title says it all, really. The apes are enslaved as servants in the future, and they've had enough. Its up to one specially talented ape Caesar, son of deceased Cornelius and Zira, to lead apes to their freedom, CONQUEST!!!! The film has a future dystopian setting, and the build up to the rebellion is neat, but Caesar's rebellion never really comes into as much effect as it should because the limitations of the films locations makes it seem like they've taken over only a small portion of a larger city, and not a larger territory. It's a nitpick, but still relevant. Still, you can sense the brutality and force of the apes in their uprise, and it makes for an entertaining climax and end, where Caesar makes an extraordinary speech. By the way, there's a apparently a theatrical cut and unrated cut that both take different directions for the endings. I watched the theatrical, and though it was altered from what it was supposed to be, I read what the unrated one does and prefer the altered version. Caesar should be a leader with moral, not replicating entirely what the humans have done onto them with more brutality, but it's up to the viewer to decide which ending is best. Either way, it's a solid entry that's entertaining.
Jayson D (us) wrote: This slow and somber counterpart to the up-tempo and quirky The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly is an absolute masterpiece with another beautiful score from Ennio Morricone, and brilliant performances from Charles Bronson, Henry Fonda, Claudia Cardinale, etc..
Adam R (br) wrote: Jerry Lewis is really funny in this most peculiar version of Cinderella. The songs aren't really notable and were a bit of a letdown, but it is an otherwise pleasantly goofy movie. (First and only viewing - 7/29/2014)
Augustine H (it) wrote: Louis Malle's feature film debut begins with a more Hitchcockian thriller than Hitchcock itself. The twisted plot, the suspense created, a film-noir style ending and the femme fatale, played brilliantly by Jeanne Moreau , stands the film out of its Hitchcockian counterparts.
jay n (br) wrote: Would have been more aptly titled Mood Rise this noirish drama is all brooding dark places and melancholy thoughts. A first rate cast convey the proper emotions, Gail Russell's liquid haunted eyes are particularly used to good effect but Dane Clark's main character's tortured actions make him frequently hard to root for. The cinematography is wonderfully evocative perhaps one of the best shot noir films out there. The opening scene is great in setting the tone for the rest of the film.
