Ariel V (it) wrote: It's interesting to watch Bale trying to pull off a Chicano character, but other than that...the movie is just not good. Oh and the slow mo shots were awesome (almost at the end of the movie).

Christine P (kr) wrote: Michael Jackson was in it!

David M (nl) wrote: Another fine, demented Bruce Campbell flick. It's no Bubba Hotep, but plenty of cheesy b-flick schlock to satisfy. Fun stuff.

JM A (mx) wrote: This film was terribly pretentious and had none of the attributes an intelligent documentary ought to have; as Errol Morris noted recently, documentary filmmakers are becoming increasingly uninterested in the most important question their art provokes; that of the nature of 'truth' itself - and especially for a film about a fiction junkie, that's pretty lame.

Richard L (ru) wrote: not so much a review as a question...why the poor ratings? it was fun, it kept moving along, didn't take itself too seriously, had good special effects for the date and was just plain fun to watch.

Hannah M (ru) wrote: A long production, but David Tennant is refreshingly *alive* as Hamlet. I've seen Shakespeare's lines droned, intoned, solemnly recited, or campy and over-the-top, but Tennant is wonderful in this role. The rest of the cast is adequate - Patrick Stewart is an acceptably treacherous Claudius, and Penny Downie is a wonderful Gertrude. Mariah Gale as Ophelia is by far the weakest of the actors, but she really has very little to do with the play, and it's well worth the watch to see Tennant's take on a very old character. Nicely done.

Diana L (es) wrote: I usually like 70's disaster movies, but this one didn't live up to my expectations. The effects are quite poor and the characters leave much to be desired. The Towering Inferno remains my favorite, next to The Poseidon Adventure.

JB R (jp) wrote: An offbeat Hammer production (and hopeful reboot for the studio) is instead something completely different and unique. The film is a fantastic period piece shot like an Italian western. The film maintains a complete grindhouse adventure vibe but with grand cinematic aspirations. At times quoting Ford, Hitchcock, Welles, and Bava this is a film not to be missed. The low budget is squeezed of all its potential and the film is wildly entertaining. One of the few films made by television man Brian Clemens.

Peter P (mx) wrote: Slow paced but well acted scifi that has an interesting dynamic between the leads and some interesting religious overtones, although it seem to get very convenient near the end for plots sake, but the final scene is a nice wrap up.

Brian S (gb) wrote: The movie's trailer claims it to be a "cinematic achievement", but no, it's a piece of shit. That cheesy tongue-and-cheek gore and story may of worked for the early 60's, but this one was released in 1970, so you expect more, but it doesn't deliver. The acting is atrocious, and the gore effects are classic campy Herschell Gordon Lewis stuff, really badly done. The story itself is just so ludicrious and a little incoherent. I was practicaly just waiting for the flick to end. Not recommended.

Ale L (ag) wrote: Hang up the phone and never redial... EVER.

Andrew S (gb) wrote: I hate those pretentious films that try to be artsy when they are not. I thought the film was rather weak. The characters were undeveloped and uninteresting. The overall story and intertwining of the various characters was weak as well I felt like some issues were resolved too easily and other key issues weren't resolved at all. I found the highlight of the film to be Heather Graham's raunchy sex scene. Props to her.
