Ignoring that though I did quite enjoy this film - it was crushingly bleak and never seemed to allow itself to become predictable, with twists galore and action out of nowhere. If you are into your depressing sci-fi films that cause slight emotional discomfort I'd say give this a go...
(mx) wrote: this is a small indie flick that I saw when it was announced to play at Slamdance film festival next week. It's a bit slow but very well done. It does not try and be some Asian retread or a lot of jump cuts and noise. It has very little gore and a spooky creepy vibe that played out well. a lot better than much bigger studio movies
(de) wrote: Kinda like a prequel to Prince of Egypt, King of Dreams makes an incredibly noble effort to hold a candle to the former, especially for a direct-to-video flick. The animation is good considering that fact (though still looking like shit when compared to POE, but that's not saying a whole lot), and they stay true to the idea of humanizing and adding personal emotions to the Biblical story. It starts out somewhat sappy and slow, but give it time and it will definitely grow on you. This agnostic recommends it highly!

It is suspenseful, an unusual plot of a woman going to an agency that specializes in marriages for foreigners so they can get citizenship. In this case, the husband turns out to be a stalker. It moved along fast, good supporting cast too.

Just doesn't seem to fit with a 1950s western. Lee Marvin stars as Tinhorn Burgess and Luke Cromwell (Audie Murphy) looks almost as good as his horse sporting a dual holster rig. Wasn't a big fan of the narration but liked this film's darker nature and focus on gun fighting. Plays like a 40s detective film noir. Got a kick out of all the nicknames.

Many conflicts ensue, all set against the peaceful country surroundings. It's an interesting mood piece of a film, with the ladies doing all of the heavy lifting onscreen.
