Castles in the Sky
It is the mid-1930s and the storm clouds of WWII were forming in Germany. This films charts the work of Robert Watson Watt - the pioneer of Radar - and his hand-picked team of eccentric yet brilliant meteorologists as they struggle to turn the concept of Radar into a workable reality. Hamstrung by a tiny budget, seemingly insurmountable technical problems and even a spy in the camp, Watson Watt also has to deal with marital problems as he chases his dream. By 1939, Watson Watt and his team have developed the world's first Radar system along the south east coast of England. A system that, in 1940, proved pivotal in winning the Battle of Britain.

(au) wrote: Very entertaining Michael Moore film. Makes you hate Wall Street, and Michael approaches it in a very easy to understand way.

The visual ??trickery?? behind the murder scenes is really quite clever in places. Willem Dafoe is the main man here, and he does a good job of playing the troubled lead detective who in his heart knew they got the wrong man for a string of previous murders. The character is difficult to like, as are most of the characters in the film...they all have their troubles. Some bits are clever, especially the visual twists on the kill scenes, but it is a bit gruesome and the main character is very odd!

(ru) wrote: Good news & bad news.... Bad news: the plot is incredibly simple and also somehow confusing (bad men have taken his elephant).... Good news: whenever there isn't plot advancement, there is ACTION.... So lots of action and slick action at that.
(it) wrote: Haha... a movie about toons that come to life and rape women.
(es) wrote: If a fuck load of nudity is what you desire, then look no further than this film. Pretty borng though, and the ritual scenes go on forever. Not a good way to finish the Tigon box set.
(ca) wrote: I Am Sam is a film that is brilliantly acted with a very nice touch, but the story nearly falls apart due to an unrealistic plot and bloated running time of over two hours
