Michael G (us) wrote: There isn't really anything in this movie that makes you say wow. It's still a pretty solid action movie. It meets that action movie prerequisite of breaking tables whenever tables are present. Seriously, all you need to know is that a cop uses martial arts and guns to take down bad guys. If that doesn't sound like a good action movie to you then this is probably not going to be your cup of tea.

Jeff B (au) wrote: An interesting story, but very clinically presented. The abrupt ending also leaves the viewer hanging.

Timothy J (es) wrote: Basically a showcase for Rita Hayworth who was the sex symbol of the 1940's. (Her image was often used on Allied Bombers over Germany) Some of the scenes that Rita was in would have been very Risqu at the time. The famous scene where she tosses her hair back and the hint at striptease. I am sure the film was enjoyed by servicemen overseas. As far as the story goes, it's Ok. Obviously inspired by Casablanca. Only in this film the Casino is in Buenos Aires. And there are Nazi sympathizers. But this movie was essentially an opportunity for men of the era to watch Rita Hayworth for two hours.

Ramona P (ca) wrote: Although full of cliches I couldn't help but to be stunned by this beautiful silent film. I have little experience with silent films but I was quite fascinatined by this one. I think eyes are very important in silent movies and in this movie they handle it perfect. Rudolph Valentino moves gracefully and proves that he's not just a pretty face. The two women leads (Lila Lee and Nita Naldi) do a great job and both are beautiful. Developing more the character Don Joselito (Charles Belcher) could've been a plus to the movie.

Alex C (es) wrote: My first encounter with Kenji Mizoguchi. Somehow, it feels like returning to home after years of journey. Watching one of the highly regarded works of the master of Japanese cinema, now I understand where Godard and Tarkovsky found muse for their future works.

Shantel D (au) wrote: Yep... pretty run of the mill 80's movie.

Bob F (nl) wrote: Gator is pure guilty pleasure. Burt Reynolds directed and stared in this 1976 follow up to the excellent WHITE LIGHTNING. This time the feds don't want Gator for running moonshine, but to go undercover to get evidence on his boyhood pal Bama McCall (Jerry Reed). Lots of action , fighting, boat chases and Reynolds signature style.
