Chesterfield torrent reviews

Josh R (it) wrote: A snorefest documentary that feels like someone is reading the wikipedia page for video games. No soul, no focus, nothing worth mentioning.

Ben J (fr) wrote: It was a decent movie, but marred by a rushed and confusing first half.

David E (de) wrote: A entertaining look into the world of voice acting in film, television, and videogames. Those who are already familiar with the animation process likely won't find a lot of new information here, but the interviews presented are interesting and watching the actors jump between character voices never fails to be enjoyable.

Caesar B (kr) wrote: Awful, just awful. Tries way too hard to be cult, story is crap as is the acting.

Ian B (us) wrote: A surprisingly enjoyable 80's throwback comedy that's unfortunately failed to find its audience. Director Michael Dowse (Fubar, Goon) brings a lot of energy to the film, helped by a smart script from Jeff and Jackie Filgo (That 70's Show) and a talented cast. I think the main thing people didn't get about this movie is that it wasn't supposed to re-invent the 80's teen comedy, it was simply just supposed to be another one. Therefor it's filled with all the same cliches, but manages to throw some originality into the mix as well. It does have some pacing issues and could've used a little more focus, but overall this is a really funny flick with one of the best 80's soundtracks ever assembled. It's really no better or worse than half of the teen comedies actually made in the 80's. Keep your expectations in check and give it a chance.

Talon B (kr) wrote: Once upon a time...I'm talking 20 years ago...this movie got so much play at our house we almost wore the VHS tape down. Every kid who spent more than an hour at our house was subjected to a screening of Super Fuzz at least once and, like us, many of them came back requesting further viewings. At the time, when it came to superhero movies, the terrain was pretty barren. Superman and Superman II were about the only good ones around so anything else that even got close was eaten up faster than JuJu Beans on a Saturday matinee at the local Fox Theater. It would be more than 5 years until Tim Burton's Batman and the wave of higher quality superhero films and TV shows that would follow, so anything that remotely came close was eagerly ingested. No matter how high the cheese-factor might be. Well, the cheese is pretty stinky in Super Fuzz. Taking a trip down memory lane during a recent re-watching has revealed more about our collective imagination as kids than it did the quality of this obvious B-picture. At the time it seems we couldn't care less about the shoddy special effects, the hack acting, poor dialog or gigantic holes in the plot. We just loved that this cat was a superhero and spent hours after every viewing rollplaying in the back yard, making up the continuing adventures of Super Fuzz. In hindsight, one reason for this was, despite all its flaws (and there are so many) the actors, including Ernest Borgnine, committed completely to their characters. I mean they sell it all, hook, line and stinker! So as a kid in the early 80s it was easy to get into the story despite the logic and lack of Sergio Corbucci's own imagination. But that was long before much better comic book type films appeared, and I suspect if kids were to see this today they'd get pretty bored. Thankfully we grew up without video games and too much TV, so if seeing Super Fuzz again revealed anything, it was a feeling of surprise. Surprise at how bad the film really was and equal surprise at how full of our own imagination we had been to not only love it, but want to play it and keep it going long after the sun had set and the color red was hard to see by porchlight.

Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn.

Jiana W (fr) wrote: The acting is very, very good from the entire cast. Guy Pearce is amazingly aloof and snobbish as pop artist Andy Warhol. Hayden Christensen is a thinly-veiled Bob Dylan-esque character named Billy Quinn. The names the characters in the movie give him-- "prophet", "voice of a generation"-- are dead giveaways for who he's supposed to be. It's ultimately a tragedy. Edie essentially falls in with the wrong crowd, is seduced by the idea of fame, and it does her in. I was never impressed with Andy Warhol's art work. Now I think he was just a complete a-hole who should've been punched in the trachea more than once throughout his career.
