Abinash A (ru) wrote: Its been years since I saw this movie and I might not remember much of it, but I do remember how happy and joyful it made me.

Jeff S (de) wrote: Stupid rehash of an attempt at Highlander 2. Stop trying to "solve" the curse. Just end the story lines now while you are behind!

Cj O (jp) wrote: Sime of the humor may be skit-humor or cartoon humor, but in my opinion, that's what made the movie good because that kind of humor wasn't common. So the cartoon-like stuff was unexpected. Plus, Michael Keaton did an excellent job at playing Johnny. And the main villain was just plain disturbing in a humorously scary way. I'm sure you'll have a "fargin'" good time. Forget what those critic "ice-holes" say!

Rob R (br) wrote: I haven't read the book so judging this as a stand alone film I would say it was pretty impressive but left me with a lot of questions.

Edward C (ag) wrote: Plot/Summary,Based on the novel by Nicholas Sparks, Message In A Bottle stars Robin Wright Penn as Theresa Osborne, a writer for the Chicago Tribune. While her son visits her cheating ex-husband, Theresa goes on a vacation by herself. One day, while running on the beach, she finds a bottle washed up on the shore. She opens it and inside finds a love letter unlike any she's ever read. Captivated by the author's words of love, she returns to her job at the Tribune where she convinces her boss to run an article about the mystery writer, known only as "G." He approves, and Theresa begins her hunt. Scrutinizing every physical detail of the letter and the path the bottle may have taken, she eventually locates Garret Blake (Kevin Costner), a North Carolina boat-restorer who has not been the same since the tragic death of his beloved wife Catherine. Since her death, Garret has written several letters to his dead wife, put them in a bottles, and let them loose in the sea. As Theresa spends time with Garret, she quickly falls in love with him, though she neglects to tell him she knows about the letters. Garret, prodded by his cantankerous, no-nonsense dad, Dodge (Paul Newman), emerges from his shell of grief and develops an interest in Theresa as well. Theresa returns to Chicago and Garret soon visits her; he meets her son, Jason (Jesse James), but also discovers her knowledge of the letters. Eventually the two, who have both lost love, must cast off their emotional baggage and decide if they will pursue love even if it can't always last.My ReviewThis okay film based on the novel written by the great Nicholas Sparks revolves around a Newspaper researcher named Theresa Osborne played by Robin Wright Penn who stumbles across a letter in a bottle penned by grieving shipbuilder Garret Blake played by Kevin Costner who writes to ease the pain of his dead wife. But when Osborne tracks Blake down, their growing attraction is endangered by their pasts. I have no idea why but whenever Nicholas Sparks books are turned into films i really don't like them that much. The only films that are based on Nicholas Sparks book's that i enjoyed where A walk to remember and The Notebook. But this while with it's great story and good acting by the two main actors a message in a bottle just seems to fall flat to me. But anyway it's a solid film and should be given some recognition for it's good acting and story and must be given a one time watch. Message in a bottle recieves a 3.5 out of 5.
