Befani G (nl) wrote: This wasn't awful, for a werewolf film. I am not a fan of them generally as it is often ruined by a terrible transformation. While this did not have an impressive version of the change from human-to-werewolf, it still managed to keep me guessing through most of it just who it was that was the beast among them.
Lydia B (nl) wrote: Pretty gruesome with bad effects and the occasional joke. Not as good as the trailer suggests. Dissapointed to be honest.

Magnus W (fr) wrote: Quite impressive puppeteering but it still feels a bit dated. It is not the technology that is the problem because they where pretty good guess on the future. I think the big problem is the pace and how it is cut which makes for quite slow tempo.

James H (au) wrote: A "BARGAIN BASEMENT" VERSION OF THE SONG OF BERNADETTE HOLDS IT'S OWN. IT'S A VERY SIMPLE STORY, GENERALLY WELL DONE. WELL ACTED BY THE CAST OF SMALL NAME ACTORS.
Art S (au) wrote: Ophuls tackles three Maupassant stories with his usual gliding camera, fantabulous costumes and sets, and wry wit. All very Gay Nineties, focused on the pros and cons of seeking pleasure.
Scott S (de) wrote: Jean Harlow plays such a nasty little character, I wish the movie would have been like most others of its kind and punished the slut for her wicked ways. But this time, the slut gets away with it all. I guess that has to count for something. Chester Morris is so-so (but his nose is so tiny, it's jarring to see him in profile with the leading ladies, both of whom have much bigger noses than him). Weird nose aside, I just didn't care that much about anyone in this movie, whereas in "Baby Face" or the first "Waterloo Bridge", I empathized with all the characters, even when they were 'bad'.

Alan V (ag) wrote: Well-shot but uninspired version of the classic story. Simon's glowstick is a clever touch. And frankly, I don't mind the deletion of his conversation with the Lord of the Flies, which wouldn't play well on film.
