Eytan D (ru) wrote: Though the story feels pretty familiar, "Legally Blonde" is never less than entertaining. It's funny for sure, mostly because of some delightfully ditzy writing from Kirsten Smith and Karen McCullah Lutz and a terrific comic turn from the always loveable Reese Witherspoon.

Brian M (ag) wrote: Sporadically funny Exorcist spoof fails to fully take advantage of the wealth of spoof opportunities the original film has to offer. The opening sequence to "Scary Movie 2" is a marginally better example of an Exorcist parody done right. But it is fun to see Blair lampooning herself, and she certainly looks as though she enjoys doing it.

Jonathan B (fr) wrote: Stodgy and lacklustre biopic of the Wartime hero with Gregory Peck as the eponymous lead. Peck seems uncomfortable in the role and his understated acting style just doesn't suit. He even looks fidgety in the trademark aviator sunglasses. The script doesn't sparkle or challenge and the action sequences, many intercut with vintage footage of battles and their aftermath, feel leaden and lack emotion. The story of this man should be perfect for a movie with big characters, political intrigue and hugely significant world events playing out across the screen but, instead, we get over two hours of exposition and badly directed flannel that as a history lesson completely fails to inform or engage.
James H (br) wrote: In spite of what RT thinks, Humphrey Bogart is NOT in this movie. It is Edward G. Robinson. 90/100. This is one of Edward G. Robinson's best films and one of the best comedies of the 1940's. The supporting cast is amazing, Edward Brophy, Anthony Quinn, Jack Carson and Harry Davenport are excellent, but it's Broderick Crawford that steals every scene he is in. Look for a very young Jackie Gleason as the soda jerk. The adapted screenplay by Everett Freeman and Edwin Gilbert from S.J. and Laura Perelman's play (The Night Before Christmas) is outstanding. It moves along briskly and there is never a dull moment. Funny situations, great dialogue and it is unique and different. I am very surprised this film is not better known, it's a fine classic.
