K M (de) wrote: Barely passable for an episode of a network crime drama, nevermind a two-hour movie. I kept hoping this cast would pull it together, but they didn't have a chance. Awful story, acting (mostly), and the soundtrack is horribly distracting, in the worst way.
Kang R (kr) wrote: Easily beaten all usual HK crime thriller with a smart plot, good directing and some good actings.
Marilena G (mx) wrote: A quite common story, told from a different angle. It may not win any awards but it's pretty fun to watch.
Lee M (ca) wrote: Shot on a very low budget with inexperienced actors, this is one of those movies in which you can see the filmmaker learning his craft as he goes along. There are some terrific moments here, and a strong sense of character and story, but writer-director Terracino encourages the actors to wildly overplay every scene.

Mike D (us) wrote: During Hollywood's fascination with Mars at the turn of the millennium, there were a few clunkers that were churned out to capitalize on the 1997 successful landing of the Mars Pathfinder rover. 'Red Planet' is probably the best, albeit least memorable entry to come out during the fad. The six-person cast is led by Carrie-Anne Moss and Val Kilmer, both of whom do fairly decently considering there's not a whole lot to interact with being stuck in a spaceship or walking around on the surface of a (mostly) barren planet. While there are too many "yeah, right" moments (breathing a Mars without a helmet? surviving a 110 mph-ice storm out in the open?), this is pretty much to be expected in a sci-fi movie. While 'Planet' is not intended to be a masterpiece by any stretch, it is mildly entertaining for what it is. And even though the half-hearted love connection between Kilmer's and Moss's characters is sort of pointless, it makes the audience care about them a little bit more. Clearly not the best sci-fi movie ever made, 'Red Planet' is probably the closest depiction of what Mars actually looks like, which is probably worth 106 minutes of your life if this is something that interests you.

When he strikes again, Maura Tierney is the policewoman who must track down Brody within 24 hours before he lets the air out of another one of his victims' hiding places. MY THOUGHTS; "It is definitely like a nightmare come true, being buried alive... This movie was good.. It's got Adrien Brody, who in my opinion played bad very good.. Didn't really look like he could pull it off to me.. But he ended up proving me wrong.. I say his portrayal of his character is what kept this movie afloat.. There was a bit of over acting from Terry Kinney, or maybe I just didn't like his portrayal of the husband. Just didn't seem to fit. Maura Tierney was good as the dark cop. All in all it wasn't a bad watch to find flipping through the TV today. I am still a bit worried that I thought the part where they found the dog was funny? I don't know, I just found Adrien to be a funny psychopath. Anyways, this movie is worth the watch if you come across it."

Simon T (mx) wrote: Clint Eastwood's Oscar-winner is viscerally exciting, unapologetically pro-American, and very well acted by Bradley Cooper and Sienna Miller. It's therefore a pity Cooper mumbles every line and Miller has the worst fake pregnancy belly in cinema history. That aside, this true story is very involving and an astonishing achievement for a man in his mid-eighties.
Thomas P (ag) wrote: Wanna see how a great cast phones it in? Here ya go. So utterly disappointing by the end. I saw this when it first came out in theatres in 1992, and again on DVD today. My review never changed.A comedy w an unfunny script, a caper film w no tension; lifeless wasted cast, overbearing music, standard camera work. It's a legendary cast who got together and relished each moment together behind the scenes, and none of it shows on screen.A pity. This could have been a high camaraderie caper flick like Its A Mad Mad World, but it is lifeless, uneventful, tedious, fake and flat. They paid their rent. That's about it.It was horrible in the theatre when I first saw it, and as invigorating as a blank wall today.A waste of talent, w a one-note joke about the-blind-guy-driving at the end.Too little too late. And you can watch that scene on YouTube and save yourself over two hours of wasted time.Exasperating.Even the director and writer doing the DVD commentary talk like it's a dull clinical exercise. An amazing misfire.Need to take an afternoon nap? This is for you. You will want to turn down the sound bc of the obnoxious soundtrack - its the one thing in the film trying to grab for your attention.I kept wanting something to happen or to catch a funny quip, but nothing.1 out of 5
