When her desperate parents, Will and Kate, are contacted by her kidnapper, an insufferable FBI Special Agent takes charge of the case. But, from deep within the psychopathic subterranean world created by Otis, Riley turns the tables on her tormentor, manages to escape and to contact her parents. And, fed up with the tragi-comic inability of the FBI to find their girl, Will, Kate, and Riley's brother, Reed decide to take matters - and justice - into their own hands
Joshua T (de) wrote: I'm pretty sure this was written and directed by a middle-schooler. Real people just don't fight and curse at each other like they do in this movie other than in grades 6-8. Tries so hard to be more than 'Saw', but never comes close to being even half as good as the worst 'Saw' sequel.

Scooter P (de) wrote: Didn't really like this movie. I could see where they were trying to go with it, but it just wasn't working. They pulled away from every death scene and filled the void with noises and light. Movie seemed to jump all over the place and could be very confusing at times. Even Jackson Rathbone couldn't save this one.

Pedro C (de) wrote: A good movie! In my opinion, very undervalued.I really liked the character that Michelle Pfeiffer created. It is a film that shows the importance of teachers and teaching. The impact that a good teacher can create in their students and the alert to the need for more talented teachers and committed to building citizens and righteous humans. The school principal and Carla are probably allegorical characters of narcissistic society we live in. That is, they tolerate the others but they don't live with them.Sometimes, there are families who don't support their children and teachers often become the ones who can make a difference. The ones who can recognize their existence, be light, be the "Mr. Tambourine Man".Regardless of the intervention of teachers / family, the kids will find a way, a path ... whether it thriving or declining. So ultimately, it is up to the teachers to help them make the choice of going on that bus instead of staying on the outside. As for Coolio song "gangsta`s paradise" I must say that, for me, music is just music, we can fit it in different genres, accompanied by several lyrics.I don'r really appreciate the original Stevie Wonder but I like Coolio's version. It's just a matter of taste :)Um bom filme!

Eric H (au) wrote: Overall this film introduces us to the different worlds in the 60's. It shows us that even if our lives are completely different it doesn't mean that we ourselves are different as James Fox's and Mick Jagger's characters show when they become one.Sure, the 60's stylings of the film have dated horribly, but go beyond the (admittedly stunning) visual style and you will find something challenging and unique, although after recently seeing "Persona" for the first time, I might dispute that last claim. Still, over thirty years later, "Performance" has the sweating, cloying, oozing, in-your-face quality that few films of its time can match.Absolutely one of my favorite films, the philosophical complexity of this rara avis has rarely been seen elsewhere in the history of the cinema. (Kieslowski comes to mind.) "Performance" explores the idea of the beholder becoming the beheld, an idea brought to the fore by the film's short opening sequence: you see the jet, you become the jet. (This, of course, doesn't mean anything until this idea is explored within the story -- then it's, "Oh, THAT'S what that opening bit was!") On top of this, there's a great story, some nice acting, a decent amount of pretense (the film's one big flaw), and a few stunning moments. In particular, a musical number -- and this film is NOT a musical) -- is one of the most staggeringly-original and (to me) wonderful moments in the history of motion pictures. A magnificent work of art, a work of art in the true sense of the word, a must-see even for those who might not enjoy it.
