Kurtis H (br) wrote: Overall, great story I felt like it could have used a little more focus. Still love the games and the movie was a nice touch. ????? Good actors.

Luca D (fr) wrote: Well I really enjoyed this film. It was a very good Dark Comedy with a very serious premise. It can be quite confusing at first but as the film progresess you begin to understand it more. By the way Eric Cantona delivered an amazing perfomance. Quite unexpected since he's a footballer and all but hey! It was a surprise when Christiana Aguilera delivered a good performance in Burlesque so this isn't really new! Anyway what impressed me about the film? Well the storyline was great to say the least. There was a lot of swearing, "F-Bombs" and discrimination but that added a charm to the film. The fact that's it's based in nowhere but England. And that charm is just one of my favourites. And the ending was amazing. I won't spoil it though but let's just say if we had multiple Eric Cantona's they would all get the best of everybody. The camerawork was good but not out-of-this-world as this film probably wouldn't suit that sort of camerwork anyway. The acting was amazing. Steve Evets and Eric Cantona delivered great performances. Now want did I not like about the film? Well it was a bit too slow. It' not supposed to be an extremely fast film but at times the film felt a bit sluggish to me. But the good outweighed the bad by a long shot so that fault didn't really matter. And that's my review. I give Looking For Eric a 4.5/5 stars for being an amazing Dark Comedy and having a wonderful cast but for being a bit too slow at times.

Lauren W (ru) wrote: A intellectual movie for non-intellectuals! And here I thought they didn't exist.I can't even begin to describe the brilliance of this movie, so watch it!

Ted W (de) wrote: Definitely a precursor to Blade, not bad with some decent performances and some nice atmosphere.

Stephen M (jp) wrote: Wonderful cast with a fun story. Unfortunatley the films story lacked structure and original writing. The editing is sloppy and the constant jingling of Hogan's spurs was really over the top annoying. The film could have been much better but still an enjoyable film to take in w/ Eastwood and MacLaine sharing the screen.

TonyPolito (gb) wrote: An incredible roster of actors don their smocks to paint up this larger-than-life portrait of the courageous 1940 RAF defense of Britain's skies. There's a Panavision canvas and a Technicolor palette, yet the finished painting doesn't quite capture the viewer's interest or awe as much as many other mid-Century epics. The editors apparently left about half of the subplots on the cutting-room floor in order to give even wider berth to the film's lush centerpiece: the authentic - and/or authentically staged - dogfight footage that employs well the width that Panavision offered. Unfortunately, all that cutting results in far more puzzlement than drama for the viewer. RECOMMENDATION: Despite the shortcomings, the quality of the aerial cinematography - and the simultaneous staging of this many classic talents - clearly earns the film a screening.

RC M (ca) wrote: Most HG Lewis movies are dam near unwatchable....(and not because of the cheap ass gore effects). But this one is a keeper! Where elese can you witness cackling EC Comic book hillbillys hack up a woman with an axe-AND listen to some GREAT bluegrass music at the same time? Skip BLOOD FEAST...see this one!

Richard D (br) wrote: Abbott and Costello have character names in this movie, but most of the time they just call each other "Bud" and "Lou". That pretty much tells you everything you need to know about this one. This series of films had really run its course by this time and not a lot of effort was going into them anymore. Which is a shame, because with Marie Windsor, Michael Ansara and Richard Deacon in this one, it has one of the best supporting casts of any A & C flick. There's just not much of anything happening here that isn't tired and repetitive.

Brandon W (mx) wrote: Bolt is directed by Chris Williams and Byron Howard, and it stars John Travolta, Susie Essman, Mark Walton, and Miley Cyrus in a Disney computer animated film about a dog that who has superpowers in terms of strength, jumping high, and speed, and he's with Penny (Miley Cyrus) who's always by his side to defeat the one-eyed man. The thing is however, it's all from a teen show and Bolt (John Travolta) knows nothing of the real world, which when Penny gets "kidnapped", Bolt goes to the outside world knowing nothing about what is real and what's fake. I adored this movie when I was a little kid, and I guess I wasn't shocked at all when it turns out this was one of the first 3D animated films from Disney that's not Pixar. So when I come across this again, of course I wanted to watch it, and it surprisingly holds up to this day. The voice acting is great, even if I was skeptical at first to see John Travolta do voice acting in this film, but he did better than I thought he did. The animation is impressive to look at, and the story is original enough for me that I'm looking forward to see where it's going to lead to, even if I haven't seen the film in years. The characters are memorable, whether it be from Bolt, Mittens, or Rhino that I thought was going to be a comic relief, but wasn't as he actually did some things. The humor is pretty funny, and the writing by Dan Fogelman and Chris Williams is clever. The only issue that I have with the film, is that while the premise of it is pretty original, the structure of it is really familiar that you are starting to see where it's going. With that said, I enjoyed Bolt very much and was a cute enough film that wasn't at the point to pull at your strings.

Kevin R (ca) wrote: In nuclear research there is no place for lone wolves A series of nuclear tests leads to a strange monster being created. The monster can bend and control anything metal and feeds on energy. A scientist and his wife conduct research on the nuclear tests and those responsible for creating the monster in hopes of finding a way to destroy it. "The maniac sings with strange voices when it's working." Curt Siodak, director Bride of the Gorilla, Love Slaves of the Amazons, The Devil's Messenger, and Ski Fever, delivers The Magnetic Monster. The storyline for this picture is fairly standard for the science fiction genre; however, the characters are very well written and presented. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same for the monster, which was disappointing. The cast includes Richard Carlson, King Donovan, and Jean Byron. "It's hungry. It has to feed constantly." The Magnetic Monster recently aired on Turner Classic Movies (TCM) double feature night (they actually aired four monster movies). We looked forward to watching these science fiction pictures and were disappointed by this film. The acting and characters were wonderful and the movie was fairly well written; but without a great monster, it is tough to have a great monster movie. "Police will be instructed to shoot to kill."
