David T (us) wrote: It's one of the most disgusting, disturbing, and offensive films I've ever seen. I loved it.

Amy H (au) wrote: Used to like this movie a lot, but my tastes have changes since then...I take issue with much of its plot and moral message.

Jeremy B (fr) wrote: Best movie of all time!!!

Michael W (es) wrote: I wanted to like it, but I couldn't. The first adjectives that come to mind are old/outdated, hokey, and ridiculous. It felt like a compilation of episodes from a mediocre early 90s T.V. show (maybe it is), lumped together for a "special" VHS Halloween release. The first segment , the mummy one with Julianne Moore is alright, but the next two I'd strongly recommend just missing.

Kenny C (mx) wrote: great b movie with great music

Michael T (au) wrote: Poor Abel Ferrara. The gritty NYC depicted in his films has largely disappeared. But the crime-ridding decaying New York at the beginning of the Reagan era is as much a character in this film as any of the human characters. Zoe Tamerlis (later Zoe Tamerlis Lund) plays Thana, a mute seamstress who works in the garment district and lives in a run-down apartment. Her creepy boss comes on to her, men leer at her in the streets, and then she is the victim of two unspeakable assaults and starts a one-woman rampage on odious men in NYC. The film has been described as a distaff version of Death Wish or as Death Wish meets Polanski's Repulsion. Its actually a very well-made film that is shocking and complex but very compelling. Lund would make several more films before her death including Ferrara's The Bad Lieutenant.

Tim W (es) wrote: In a shallow society where outward appearance is everything, and where people are extremely self-centered and egocentric, and sexist, anyone could be a psychopath and get away with it. It's a satirical allegory of the upper class and the way they masquerade. Even if they don't all murder, they may as well all be sociopaths! Dark and disturbing but also funny and clever. Christian Bale did a pretty good job. 6.5/10

Sean P (au) wrote: The back and forth between the time periods was confusing for a bit but became understandable. I really didn't like the copycat group and the ending left it with no resolution.

Raji K (kr) wrote: The Expendables rounds up a cast of action stars from the 90s era and puts them on a special mercenary squad. The squad features Stallone, Statham and Crews who are sent to an island to take on a corrupt general and rogue CIA operative. The Expendables is just what you expect, some fun action and your typical blockbuster. The movie really does not add much else and does not feature some of the other stars nearly as much as the trailer would have you believe. Like most movies with a popular cast, the film would not be even on the radar if not for the cast.

Deanna G (de) wrote: I think this movie is amazing. This is my favorite movie and book. I loved the plot and all the characters. I liked the idea of it not really having a happy ending and wish there was more to the movie. Just like in the movie I desperately want to know what happens to the characters after the end of the story. The jokes were hilarious and the metophors are great. I definitely recommend this movie.
