Monique Y (it) wrote: The marriage depicted in this script is as doomed as the movie. The only things in its favor are Ischia in Italy, Mateo Messina's score and grandma's recordings: "You know the truth when you find it. It'll come to you like something you've known before rather than something you're learning for the first time."

Mikael K (mx) wrote: Watching this I really had a hard time believing that anyone on this earth holds Elvis in any kind of iconic status. It's discusting how a film as old and innocent as this is clearly all about using the lead as a product. Just as bad as any of the current films starring commercialized teen idols. Seriously, this isn't even a movie, it's a PR gig. I hope my ming deletes all the musical sequences soon enough...

Allan C (nl) wrote: Offbeat mix of gangsters, espionage, comedy, and Nazis. Somehow these weird plot elements and a great cast add up to a pretty entertaining film. It's hard to have a bad movie that stars Humphrey Bogart, Peter Lorre, William Demarest, Jackie Gleason, Wallace Ford, Conrad Viedt, and Phil Silvers. Not available on DVD except in a Bogart Boxed set. I caught this one on TCM.
