Cory N (mx) wrote: Not a bad movie and well made, but it peetered out by the end. It had alot going for it, definitely different than any hollywood fare. Where it began to become formulaic was towards the end, not even close to being a satisfying or original ending. The story was really good throughout for the majority of the movie, so were the action sequences. I kind of liked the pace of it, it wasn't always trying to throw something exciting or interesting in your face. So it didn't feel like the director was trying too hard to impress and relied more on the story and characters, which was satisfying. It had more of a subtle, organic vibe to it at times, which I liked. Unfortunately by the end I was disappointed. The movie runs around two and a half hours, and for all that effort I felt like I just finished watching a well made children's story. I am sure it was meant more for more older audiences too. Good effort though.

Al M (de) wrote: While not an Amicus film, Tales that Witness Madness feels like the Amicus portmanteau or omnibus films of the era; however, it is way better than most of them. Amicus and Hammer veteran Freddie Francis helms this anthology horror film that succeeds because it has genuinely weird (if not really scary) stories. Featuring Donald Pleasance, Joan Collins, and Kim Novak, Tales that Witness Madness stands out as one of the better British omnibus horror films of the seventies.

Sean K (kr) wrote: Starting Moore out as Bond in what feels like a 70s sploitation flick like Foxy Brow seems like an odd choice. Still, Moore brings a more suave take to the character alongside some memorable stunt work that's sure to entertain...
Chris G (ag) wrote: Most movies nowadays rely on sex and, now redundant, over-the-top special effects, but I found that "Oz the Great and Powerful" did not suffer from these traits - it seems that the critics help drive this absurdity. I assumed that this new film would disgrace the 1939 movie, but was pleasantly surprised. I also liked that some of the (simple) features from The Wizard of Oz (1939) were retained, like the black smoke emitted from the witches flying broom.
