Jeff G (it) wrote: This little indie could have been named Shit Happens which rhymes with it??s actual title because in this film that is what happens just as it does in most movies but with this one no story ends happily or positively. There seems to be no focus or point to each story I believe the director is trying to make the point such surprises and mundane things and events happen just like this all the time everyday like this in small towns. Well duh This isn??t a documentary what it tries to be or comes closest as a movie is a modern day dirtier, grittier ??The Last Picture Show?? only with Anal Sex, Drug Deals, Illegal Aliens, Domestic Violence, Closeted Gays, Drug Overdoses, Shocking Handgun Violence, Rampant Sex, Mental Disease & Asains. But watching it you feel like you are a citizen of that town with nothing to do and nothing to get excited about as the movie is slow moving. One of the noteworthy things about this movie is the cast of up and coming actors that the director cast on such a low budget. it??s like watching American grafitti. The one other thing it has going for it is it??s shocking sad ending which for once I can say I truly didn??t see coming you can chalk it up to incoherent writing or originality or maybe the director??s ambition was too high trying to be another Robert altman and failing to do so. I??m open to whatever theory there is. The little plot is the events that happen over a 24 hour period in Athens Georgia. For some odd reason jorge garca uses a very bad mexican accent that doesn??t work. It feels like a movie with something to say but either it doesn??t know how to say it or maybe dyslexic or a foreigner who doesn??t speak english. It is pretty much a downer. i say rent at your own risk.

Danny R (es) wrote: A excellent sequel to the thriller "The Night Stalker," which stands as one of the highest rated made-for-TV films ever made. Darren McGavin reprises his newspaper reporter role of Carl Kolchak, in a superb performance. This time tracking a story in Seattle, Washington, where a mysterious nocturnal strangler has been murdering young women, and removing small amounts of blood from the top of there skulls. Good creepy fun, with good supporting performances from Richard Anderson, John Carradine, Wally Cox, and Margaret Hamilton.

Ashley H (us) wrote: Arbitrage is a decent film. It is a troubled hedge fund magnate desperate to complete the sale of his trading empire makes an error that forces him to turn to an unlikely person for help. Richard Gere and Susan Sarandon give good performances. The script is a little slow in places. Nicholas Jarecki did an alright job directing this movie. I liked this motion picture because of the drama and mystery.
Jennifer T (ca) wrote: Sean Penn and Michelle Pfeiffer were absolutely excellent in this. A must-see film. Heartfelt and dramatic. Such a beautiful movie. Nominated for an Oscar in 2002. It would have been awesome if Sean Penn would have won the Oscar. Overall a great movie! Bravo!
Philip R (es) wrote: I had the convenience of not being all too familiar with the television show the aired during the 70's when I watched this film. Because of this I did not have any qualms when something did or did not happen in the film exactly the way it had happened in the show. I have heard of occurrences where those fond of the show would refuse to watch this Robert Altman classic. I find that utterly ridiculous. What many people may not now is that before the movie or the show there was the novel that started it all. MASH: A Novel About Three Army Doctors by Richard Hooker is the origin of the entire cultural phenomenon. What came next was not the show but the movie. Then came the show. Therefore the show owns a lot of gratitude to this film. And what a film it is. MASH showcases many of Robert Altman's trademark witticism and satire. Made in the first year of what is arguably the best decade in all of cinematic history, it kicks off the 70's, paving the way for many other amazing films to follow within the following ten years, especially the war films. It is no secret that though taking place during the Korean War, it satirizes America's hostile misgivings about the Vietnam War and it does so, not with political statements or heavy handed messages but with a dark, almost depressing, humor. MASH is a movie about people on the brink of insanity because of the war they are fighting but instead of going down the dramatic route of breaking down, the characters lift their martini glasses high and welcome the lunacy that follows. This movie's offbeat humor was hilarious and appropriate. This is a very enjoyable movie.
