Charlie L (jp) wrote: An insightful look into the life of Ali from not only the man himself but the people around him. However, the film is too long and tends to drag in certain areas where the pace slows drastically.

Michael V (jp) wrote: Solid movie. I'm a fan of the majority of the actors and actresses in this film. Story moves along nicely while offering up twist and turns. Worth a watch.

Nick O (es) wrote: I've heard lots of good things about this film, and again Danny Dyer is in it, so I must see it! I MUST!

Trevor W (jp) wrote: Maybe it's because I'm tired or maybe I zoned out or something, but I found this Wes Anderson film to be rather slow. Sure, it its great quirkiness I've come to know and love, but despite its occasional laughs and dedicated acting, this film didn't get me as invested as other Anderson flicks.

Kevin J (kr) wrote: This is not a successful comedy by any standard. First off, the story is not that good. At times, it can pique your interest, before falling off again. When it comes to the jokes, I have a hard time identifying more than a handful. I could probably count on one hand the amount of times I laughed and/or smirked. That is never a good thing when it comes to comedies. On top of that, the actors all looked like they just mailed this one in. Not many seemed to care that much and just wanted the paycheck that came with accepting this role. Down Periscope is not funny or exciting, so it is hard for me to recommend this one to anybody.

Joseph G (gb) wrote: Selma Hayack and the first half of this movie are its only redeeming qualities. The second half morphs into this horrible special effects nightmare of vampires in a saloon. I get that people are into the campy vampire low budget genre but it just doesn't do it for me. I would recommend watching the first half of the film and definitely the Selma Hayack dance scene. ~~

Roberta W (it) wrote: a plot that doesn't come across many screens, with a twist after a twist after twist, definitely a film worth watching

Sam M (it) wrote: They shouldn't have let Sinatra's pal in this film die. Anyway, I think the part when he complained about hospital food is really funny.

Mike W (us) wrote: This was a surprising film. Watched it purely on the description. I didn't see a trailer or read any reviews. For a low budget independent movie I was really impressed. The effects were really impressive. Far better than most "B" movies. The acting was of a high standard and the script very good. This is shot in the first person in a documentary format. But this was one of the better filmed ones. This film is highly recommended and I am at a loss as to why it is rated so low.

Matthew J (us) wrote: Sean Connery stars in 'Entrapment' as the most confusing character in recent film history. In one moment he's Catherine Zeta-Jones's best friend in the next one he is drowning her, than he helps her, than she tries to arrest him. This film is full of similar logical fallacies and visually confusing action scenes in which you can't see what the hell is going on.

Steven S (jp) wrote: In the early years the network was hungry for content. Certain artists such as Prince, Michael Jackson and Madonna were quick to use videos to pump up album sales. Purple Rain takes the pop music video one step by making a full length movie with a music video feel. The movie is made up of a cast of around 20 individuals with little to no acting experience. This type of film takes so many risks that it could easily fall flat on it's face, and yet it manages to fly.The undertones of the movie such as violence against women were shown but not ever really addressed. I guess swallowing your pride and singing a trio of good songs at the end fixes everything. Now that Prince is gone the movie gets elevated to cult status. It's a solid movie and a throwback to a simpler time. The music in and of itself lifts this movie at least one letter grade.
