Yuk Jiun L (it) wrote: Saving General Yang is a straightforward retelling of the legendary Yang family story, where seven sons of General Yang promised their mother to rescue and bring their father home from the Khitans. Those who knows the history of the Yang family should know how the tragic story ends. The film lacks emotional resonance; the characterisation of the brothers are shallow and most audience might have trouble to identify which brother is which until the fighting starts, where each of the brothers utilizes different set of skill during battle. Most of the action sequences filled with 'slow-mo' effect, which is annoying. However, the film shows the destructive nature of war as the battle scenes are gory and filled with death. The film manages to flesh out its themes of bravery, loyalty, filial piety, humanity & justice which the Yang family supposed to personify during the battles. 3/5

Miranda Z (de) wrote: It turned around near the end (polygamy! The Other Tucker!), but even its catchy, familiar soundtrack could not save this (admittedly very attractive) mess.

Overall it just never really grabbed my attention story wise. The costumes, art direction, score, and hair and make up are all great to look and listen to but he story was a bit of a bore for my taste. Very minor Francis Ford Coppola
Ashley H (de) wrote: Firestarter is a disappointing film. It is about a couple who participated in a potent medical experiment to gain telekinetic ability and then have a child who is pyrokinetic. Drew Barrymore and David Keith give terrible performances. The screenplay is badly written. Mark L. Lester did a horrible job directing this movie. I was not impressed with this motion picture.
Yash B (es) wrote: This is a fantastic story that anyone who loves biopics must see. It is an amazing story about one of the most influential people in history. Your enjoyment of the film will depend on your interest in the subject matter, which luckily for me wasn't an issue because I was interested and fascinated from start to finish. Ben Kingsley delivers the best performance from his career and it may even be one of the best performances I've ever seen on screen from any actor. This is a timeless story that displays the power of tolerance and nonviolence and it is a must see, especially if you are Indian.
Timothy S (us) wrote: Teen comedies have been in a steady decline since the 1980's, but "Mean Girls" proved a few years back that they do not have to all be bad. Now, along comes the dreadful "John Tucker Must Die" to set the genre back again, as this is a painfully obvious and predictable entry with vapid characters and themes that border on bullying. The whole thing is played for laughs that never come, and somehow that makes it even more offensive. The film has a young and beautiful cast, lots of bouncy but forgettable pop songs and everyone learns a lesson in the end, but along with that it comes saddled with a story that's been told dozens of times before. This variation has nothing new to bring to the table.Despite all of the good looks, there's not a single likable actor or character in the film, and that includes star Brittany Snow who's supposed to be the "good girl" or the "voice of reason." You spend the whole movie wondering why she's been ostracized by her entire high school when she's just as hot as everyone else. The movie is as shallow as its characters as there are no genuine emotions or heart here. It's played too broad for any of that, and it's quite disheartening to see all of these people using or manipulating everyone else. This was clearly made solely for the high school set, and it aims just low enough to please a lot of them. "John Tucker Must Die" made me feel a lot of things, but mostly I was just sad for a generation that grows up with dreck like this when I grew up with the works of John Hughes.

Cam E (nl) wrote: Superman II is a fantastic sequel to Superman. Terence Stamp is fantastic in this film. Richard Donner does another great job in directing this film. In my opinion he should have directed all 4 of the Superman films. The special effects are good. The only flaw with this film is that on certain flying scenes you can see the wires which help them to fly. This is one of the best sequels I have seen for a while. Terrific action in this film.
