Ri M (gb) wrote: What a terrible let down this movie is. The trailer does not reflect what the movie is about at all. The movie tries to be funny but ends up being juvenile as the writer and director show a complete lack of understanding of the human psyche. Except for heist movies where you except evil genius to succeed, all movies, that are based on (almost) true stories depict the triumph of good over evil, but not this one. You leave the movie with a disgusting feeling in your stomach as you watch how a scheming servant not only takes advantage of her absolutely adorable and kind boss but manages to convince even the most innocent amongst to take part in her conniving charade; in the real world the good people in India and all around the world would rather starve to death then turn to a life of crime - it's not like a gun was being held to their head, which would have been a different matter. The writer and director have no sense of good karma vs. bad karma and think they were attempting to make a funny movie which they have miserably failed. They had such great actors to work with, and such great material to start with and managed to completely screw up the movie. Not worth spending a dime on such trite.

Vadim D (es) wrote: It's commendable for Kidman's and Ben Chaplin's performances, but besides that there is nothing much else here to like. The tone is wildly uneven and the film can't decide what it wants to be.

Carlos M (kr) wrote: Ephron's screenplay is marvelous, deliciously funny and deserving of every award - and much of the improvised dialogue in several moments fits so perfectly that they seem scripted -, but what makes the movie even more adorable is the chemistry between Crystal and Ryan.

Knox M (br) wrote: It's a work of genius. Tense and beautiful. It makes you feel like you're in the jungle and you're just an onlooker.

Marcus W (ag) wrote: Great film with Lancaster on top form.
