Tim K (au) wrote: You can't get mad at a movie that is as stupid as you expect. Still...it's horrible. The line readings aren't even smooth. Ecckkk.

Halley B (ru) wrote: The lack of character arcs made this movie seem stagnant, despite the leads' great acting jobs.

Lady D (br) wrote: Not so much a 'whodunnit' film as more of a 'did she do it'? It does look a little dated and it's not exactly a Blockbuster, however a good performance from Nigel Hawthorn and an interesting story

Brady S (ca) wrote: The Rock is better and more fun also more action packed.

Irvin C (mx) wrote: This is not the zombie movie the way modern audiences know zombie movies. The zombie here is the voodoo/Haitian type involving spiritualism and black magic. This is a Val Lewton production directed by Jacques Tourneur. Like what he did with "Cat People," Tourneur effectively uses shadows and atmosphere to create a sense of dread. It doesn't actually SCARE you in the conventional way but it does creep you out and it does so beautifully.

Aquiles V (mx) wrote: This interpretation of Frankenstein is flawed but entertaining. The pace of the movie had a few problems, as some things seemed to happen too fast, and there were scenes with not enough development. But De Niro is good as Frankenstein's monster and the story is engaging. I also liked the third act, as it became more exciting. Not a perfect adaptation, but an enjoyable movie regardless.

Carl R (us) wrote: Interesting look into Afghani culture, particularly the Pashtun tribes and their conservative practices. Though the film is fictional, it helps pique a world traveler's interest into researching Afghanistan further while drawing upon a motion-picture interpretation of the U.S.' involvement in Afghanistan over the past decade.
