Country Hooker

A couple of musicians are on their way to a show at a country bar. Along the way, they pick up a couple of sexy hitchhiking ladies and decide to pull over for a pitstop. Eventually, they make it to the bar and uncover that the deep voiced country singer that also plays there is also a pimp who uses the "waitresses" to make him some extra cash. It is up to our musician heroes to put an end to the singer and his operation.

Chip B (nl) wrote: Loved seeing Edge & Jack White's genuine, childlike glee as they learned legendary Page's guitar tricks. Be sure to watch the extra scenes on the DVD.

Clarentia P (es) wrote: what do you expect from a dance movie? Just dance.

Geralt R (jp) wrote: This movie isn't funny and isn't charming. It's just boring with every part seemingly cribbed from another movie. The script is poorly written and the characters' lines sound forced and unnatural. Dean Winters is by far the worse culprit: you swear he was taken out of an high school play. The character Emily Mae Young plays (Jenny) is obnoxious. Her precociousness is annoying more than it is charming. Lorraine Ansell is better but she's playing a character without any positive traits. The sole redeeming quality is Yasmine Bleeth who actually manages to makes something out of her poorly written character and manages to be sweet and likeable.Overall, if you like cloying, sugary, poorly acted family movies than this might be your thing but for everyone else it's better to avoid and hope you don't have to suffer through it.

Jim S (es) wrote: Yes, this is a great movie. The lack of dialogue makes it easy to deal with despite no English, everything about it is totally well-made... apart maybe from some of the ending, which was merely ok. A lovely film to watch on a date, assuming you and your partner have similar tastes. Some totally excellent jokes, beautiful people. Like Local Hero for scots, this is about the old ways in the modern world, and the unchanging nature of men and women. 4.75 stars - 5 for benefit of doubt.I can't deny some "look away now" moments for queasy animal lovers...=====I am rewatching this (thanks O) and even though I can't understand a word of dialogue on this DVD, it's spectacular. A perfect film to watch while preparing a meal for hogmanay.

Paul D (ag) wrote: This movie is probably one of Sigourney Weaver's best acting performances. I really enjoyed this movie for the most part. It did have the occasional dry spot, but the overall writing was so good that I never lost interest in the story. I would recommend checking this out if you get the chance.

Joshua R (it) wrote: As a Baltimoron, it was nice to recognize some of the cultural influences and filming locations. However, this movie certainly creeped me out! I feel like I went on some kind of drug trip.

roy d (it) wrote: Con-and-the-movies have always been a favorite subject for film makers, and the concept can arugably present up some awesome scenes and sequences. If you have seen Peter Sellers in any of his - other - legendary roles, him as the Fox will be a underwhelming experience for you. A career criminal, Fox escapes from the prison in what could be the most - and only - intelligent con we see on screen when he finds out that his sister is not returning home from school everynight, only to find out that she is trying her luck out at the movies. The Fox finally decides that he should be at home, and the only way to do that is to run a heist so big that him and his family can retire in the lap of luxury, which brings him to a heist that requires smuggling gold into the country. The Fox plans to bring them into the country under the ruse of a movie set, which introduces Tony Powell (Richard Mature) as a fast fading film star. The movie falls flat in all departments, right from the gags to the screenplay to the dialogues. The main plot comes into play at about twenty minutes to half an hour into the movie, and by then the film loses the last vestige of passing interest that we would have for a Peter Sellers bonanxa.

Tim M (nl) wrote: A fun and well-done look at the real but legendary Davy Crockett. Fess Parker plays the American hero in a larger than life way while still showing the compassion and sensability of the frontiersman. From volunteer in the Creek Indian War to his final adventure at the Alamo this film highlights the life of Crockett. Buddy Ebsen (Beverly Hillbillies) stars as a supporting sidekick to Parker's Crockett and the two work nicely together.

Daniel M (au) wrote: What a stupid movie. The acting was stupid and the characters were very lame. I couldn't watch it till the end. It gets half a star because the concept of the story was unique. 0.5/5

Corley J (ca) wrote: The National Film Registry has been something i loved but did not know a lot about it how it came together as far as movie documentary this is very good my only problem was for all The filmmakers interview some of them i would have like too seen more of them like Rob Reiner Christopher Nolan zooey deschanel

Hannah D (ca) wrote: The non-linear structure takes some getting used to, but this is a really well-made drama with interesting characters and dialogue. Vanessa Redgrave did a sterling job as the school teacher Jean trying to come to terms with her past. I also really liked Joely Richardson playing young Jean in the 1950s.
