Cousin Bette is a poor and lonely seamstress, who, after the death of her prominent and wealthy sister, tries to ingratiate herself into lives of her brother-in-law, Baron Hulot, and her niece, Hortense Hulot. Failing to do so, she instead finds solace and company in a handsome young sculptor she saves from starvation. But the aspiring artist soon finds love in the arms of another woman, Hortense, leaving Bette a bitter spinster. Bette plots to take revenge on the family who turned her away and stole her only love. No ser la mejor pelcula que he visto, contiene la tpica historia de telenovela en que la muchacha "rica" se enamora del muchacho "pobre", y en ocasiones la historia es un tanto predecible, pero en general es un filme muy entretenido, divertido, y para pasar un buen rato es una excelente opcin. Quin dira que esta pelcula rompera rcords en taquilla.

The world may have been a menacing place to live in but people were more innocent and less cynical. While the violence is pretty bloodless, it doesn't matter where you aim, a gun fired will always hit someone. A few good technical scenes helped mitigate some of the narrative flaws and contrivances, and while the film could've been a tense thriller with social commentary for an audience in '48, but for an audience in '15, it feels rather dated and carries less of an impact.
