Leon B (es) wrote: Review:I didn't really enjoy this movie. I just couldn't come to terms with the fact that no one knew that the the main character was a man who dressed up as a woman. Anyway, Cillian Murphy put in a good performance, even though he doesn't say that much throughout the movie, and Ellen Page and Susan Sarandon played great cameos. The whole pace of the movie is pretty slow and it does seem to drag. Your hoping that something will happened that will pick up the pace and change the direction of the plot, but it stays in the same mood throughout. It's a strange storyline which doesn't really have any sense or morals which was why I did fall asleep a couple of times. In all, it's watchable but not that great.Round-Up:This is the second movie that I have seen with Cillian Murphy dressing up as a woman, which is a bit strange. He does pull of a woman quite well and his weird acting style suited the character well. Not anyone could have played this part. I didn't really see the whole point with the film of what message the director was trying to get across, and there isn't a explain action with why the main character has lost the plot. The ending was a bit abrupt and strange which made me wonder why the director went in that direction. In other words, it wasn't the greatest of movies.I recommend this movie to people who are into there deep dramas about a man who has a split personality. 3/10
Buggy B (br) wrote: Despite all the terrible reviews this wasn't a terrible movie. I actually quite liked it. Sure there are moments where you just have to go with it, (how did that girl end up in the bus when everyone else is in the river?) and the acting (expect for Hirshe) is not great but I've definitely seen worse. The premise of invisible energy absorbing aliens was pretty cool and the special effects are excellent -even if they are reminiscent of the beginning of War Of The Worlds, where Tom Cruise is running away and through everyone getting incinerated into ash. I also loved the fact that this took place in Moscow, super refreshing location, in fact that was the hook that got me to watch, I doubt I would have bothered if this had been another America saves the day. 5/24/14

Michael P (nl) wrote: It has great potential, but the pacing and tone in the last half hour keep jumping all over the place, bringing it down. Essentially, it tries being a cross between Terminator and Blade Runner, but can't quite find the right balance between the two. Still, the ambition is commendable, and the visual style is superb.
