Cruel But Necessary is the story of Betty Munson's strange journey of self-discovery and soul-awakening in the traumatic years following the revelation, on videotape, of her husband's infidelity. Her marriage over, struggling to raise her teen-age son alone, Betty becomes driven to discover other secrets that may surround her and so she videotapes every aspect of her life during the gradual disintegration of her comfortable upper middle-class existence. Sometimes used as an eavesdropping device, other times as a confessional, Betty's camera dispassionately records the layers of family and personal dynamics. The film is seen entirely from the viewpoint of Betty's video camera resulting in a "surveillance tape" that is a kind of voyeurism of the absurd

This has incredible footage from some insane runs, from some of the best snowboarders in the world, and a great look back at the history behind the sport. All in all you won't find a better snowboarding movie then this.

Bill B (br) wrote: I started out liking this film pretty well, but it got amazingly over-plotted with a few too many characters for its own good. This culminates in a CGI end battle that owes waay too much to video games instead of the source material, which effectively knocked it down several points in my estimation.Rental at best.

John P (kr) wrote: A grossly underrated movie , as good as the first , and a far cry from 3 and 4 . Kersey's relationship with Bronson's actual wife , Jill Ireland , is quite believable , and there's no mistaking the chemistry . That a man would go on a rampage of revenge over the rape and brutal death of his already traumatized daughter is something and real man can understand ( and there are some beautifully sensitive moments here ; Robin Sherwood , as Carol Kersey , is brilliant ) . The unexpected ending adds gusto to an already solid movie . This is more than a must for Bronson fans : It's a damned good movie , period .

Andrew B (gb) wrote: One of the only Kevin Smith movies actually worth watching Clerks is pretty damn funny. With the backdrop of the whole early 90s grunge scene this movie offers up a pretty authentic dialogue throughout the movie. The movie actually reminds me a little bit of Seinfeld, what I mean by that it is literally a movie about nothing. Just two guys who work in a convenient store in new jersey and there day working on a weekend. Clerks is dialogue based there is no action or sex or anything of that nature that will get your blood pumping but it will surely have you laughing at some of the comments being made by the characters.
