Cruel Intentions

Slaking a thirst for dangerous games, Kathryn challenges her stepbrother, Sebastian, to deflower their headmaster's daughter before the summer ends. If he succeeds, the prize is the chance to bed Kathryn. But if he loses, Kathryn will claim his most prized possession.

Two wealthy step-siblings of an elite Manhattan prep school make a deliciously diabolical wager of sexual conquest: to de-flower the new headmaster's daughter, who writes an article in Seventeen Magazine about how she intends to stay pure until she marries her boyfriend, before the start of term. . Nate H (es) wrote: This isn't the type of movie I would go out of my way to see, but in a way I am glad I did. Is it corny? Oh yes. Is it clich? Very much so. But it has a certain charm, a charm harking back to the times of old when audiences ate these movies up and loved the characters as much as they loved the explosions. The Expendables 2, for what it's worth, is a decent action smash em' all with a handful of well-known characters from the 1970's, 1980's, and 1990's. There are no intense "thriller" moments aside from some well executed fight scenes and you won't find too many twists here. You know what you're getting into, you know what the ending will inevitably end up being, but The Expendables 2 makes it tolerable enough - and at times fun - to follow along with the crew nevertheless. Worth at least one view but don't expect too match re-watchability. This movie doesn't make you think, and that's one of my favorite parts about it. Senseless fun with the action heroes we all grew up with. 2.5 / 5

Adam R (us) wrote: A bizarre movie about two girls who find themselves trapped in a prison in Thailand. It kept my interest, but I didn't like the way things turned out in the end. (First and only viewing - 9/21/2015)

Matthew B (es) wrote: This movie is basically Rosemary's Baby set on a speeding freight train traveling through what used to be Serbia. From the multiple beheadings to the train crash sequences that look like something out of Thomas the Tank Engine, this is seriously one of the most insane movies I have ever seen. I'm giving it an extra star just for having the audacity to call itself entertainment.

Michele A (it) wrote: Too slow and not enough depth... Especially the characters

Stephanie S (jp) wrote: A unique approach to storytelling. I respect those who brake the rules.

Jenny X (ru) wrote: extremely well acted, particularly by Caine, this film explores the dilemma faced when one feels the only option is to take matters into your own hands

Jaret M (ca) wrote: David Lynch appears to actually be having fun reveling in his own, unique, rockabilly surrealism. Cage, Dern, and especially DaFoe, give bizarre, killer performances in this cautionary tale of young, sexual explosiveness. The film doesn't seem to know quite how to land, and that fatal flaw weakens the whole experience, but it doesn't kill it; the ride is still worth it.
