Dov D (es) wrote: Yang Woo-seok's politically charged The Attorney can be a bit overly-sentimental throughout the court scenes, but the revolutionary message still manages to bring a few tears to you eye. Chronicling the conflict and fear between North and South Korea in the 1970s-80s, the sociopolitical commentary expressed in this film is second to none. An incredible drama that even people ignorant of the political issues it's dealing with will enjoy.

Bill T (us) wrote: Almost funny bad exploration of Pirates, 1952. Yes, Errol Flynn, Maureen O'Hara and Anthony Quinn do mean business while dressed in what can only be drag queen pirate drag. Flynn is a spy see, trying to get a hold of a Pirate map for jolly old Engbland. The pirates accept him, and even take him to take over a Chinese ship, From here, it almost becomes a parody of itself with the most godawful acting by the girl playing the princess. A hoot!

Robert R (us) wrote: This is a clear exercise in why historical films shouldn't be treated as just history lessons. It managed to take a fairly worthy premise and bludgeon it to near death with an overall lack of urgency or stakes, an unbearable reliance on lengthy passages of circular dialogue, and a permeating feeling of disinterest exuded by nearly every cast member other than Peter O'Toole. And, try as he may to inject this thing with as much scenery-munching vim and vigor as he can, it all really matters naught in the end.

Ryan C (us) wrote: With an interesting twist on buddy cop films, "Training Day" is a brutal look at gangs and drugs and how police must intermingle with them. While it builds up to a less than stellar ending, Denzel Washington contributes another spectacular performance.
