John M (ru) wrote: Definitely over the top gory. Has a couple of instances of interesting gore effects. The whole club scene has quite a bit of kinky imagery which quite frankly I have to give credit to whoever thought those things up and then brought them to life because I would have never considered some of those. For that I added half a star for Chair Kelly (You'll understand once you watch it)

In the end, I suppose it's a matter of what you want from your under water documentary.

Alec B (au) wrote: Still one of my favorite movies of the new century . . . It feels like an old fashioned epic, which might explain why it was ignored by general audiences back in 2003 and has been slowly forgotten about (despite the fact that the effects work is still convincing). There's an argument to be made that this is the best of Crowe's adventurous leading man performances.

Brian S (ru) wrote: Good piece of alien invasion cinema. I consider this to be Ray Harryhausen's best film. This is one of the classic 1950's alien invasion B movies, raining on the fear of artificial intelligent aliens. The Black and white version is more recommended then the color version.
Allan C (gb) wrote: Silly story about mobsters teaming up with a mad scientist to reanimate corpses so they can remotely control the corpses to carry out their birding. The screenplay is by Curt Siodmak and is not all that good, but it is interesting to see pre-Romero zombies that do seem to follow most of the "rules" for the living dead he would establish 13 years later (unthinking, slow moving, only stopped by destroying the brain [though in this case it's to destroy the wiring put in by the mad scientist])
