Bernard N (es) wrote: has lots of potential from the get-go but midway thanks to direction or lack of storytelling, story was all over the place and doesn't make sense especially towards the guess-who mystery. Tony Leung is in his usual acting style. The ending could have been very different and shocking, every possible angle was going thru my head especially during the last funeral sequence, but it was the usual ho-hum given.

Marshall U (mx) wrote: This movie was a riot! It serves its purpose, to make you laugh. A nice movie to watch for some good laughs. Tyler Labine is great as the lead in this movie, with good performances from Damon Wayans, Jr. and Thomas Middleditch as supporting characters. Great chemistry between the main characters played by Labine and Lucy Punch. And aside from the laughter, the romance and connection between Labine and Punch feels heart-warming. A lot of the jokes and gags are nasty and outrageous (everytime I laughed out loud, my girlfriend looked like she wanted to throw up). Guys will definitely like this movie more than girls. While the movie is predictable if you watch the preview beforehand and is mostly a standard rom-com, it is still an enjoyable watch that is well-worth the one hour and 24 minute runtime.

Ellis W (jp) wrote: Below is an attempt to be a blend of supernatural horror and World War Two thrills, yet it only feels like it points at them and doesn't try to enrich itself in either. Sure it's passably entertaining and has a cast which can act, yet in the end it is mere surface with only a half-hearted effort to be something more interesting than a plain old cliche.

Jason D (us) wrote: Don't let the cover of this movie fool you, this film is actually a small, but decent nature rum-amok movie about a new breed of lizard that inhabits a forest and take over a cabin that a hot, big tittied blond resides at as well as the field researcher who is studying these creatures. They spend most of the movie locked up in a cabin fighting off these small and ferocious lizards and cracking wise at each other. This was a decent direct to video film that was mildly entertaining and fun to watch because of the silliness of it. Fun watch.

Michael W (au) wrote: A launching pad of sorts for producers Golan-Globus and a true landmark of the ninja film genre. Of course, it helps having international superstar Franco Nero on board. Golan-Globus would go on to repeat the formula with massive success.

Graham B (br) wrote: An opulent drama unfolds around a pair of diamond earrings. A strange premise, but the story told is one of heightened emotion, love and loss. The depth of tragedy here is a counter play to the lavish opulence of the setting. This is a masterpiece of cinematography. Magnificent tracking shots are choreographed rather than merely directed. One dance between Louise and Donati is cut with time elapse to tell the story of their brief romance with great effect. Simple notes in their conversation change. He asks about her husband; she remarks on her husband's health and eventually The General is forgotten altogether. The earrings act as punctuation to the acts of the story and this is done with great effect as is the anonymity of The Countess. It's not all doom and gloom though. This tragedy of errors does have some nice comic touches in some incidental characters. The valets at the opera, the jeweller's son, the guardsmen at the barracks. Just light little touches that bring a strong balance to the piece.

Dillon L (it) wrote: Somewhat humorous. I find that a lot of Chaplin's earlier films were too similar to each other, and thus became pretty generic. This one kind of reminded me of his later film The Circus (which is much better than this).

Ric A (ag) wrote: Everything is ground-breaking, literally and figuratively; that is probably why this film works for some. I'd stay with the minority and leave this mess alone.
