Karsh D (jp) wrote: there are worse Seagal Movies - but after a somewhat surprising promising start the bad fx, stunts and dialogue become all too commonplace - at least there is no lip syncing and Segal is at least coherent

Kevin Y (kr) wrote: Although this movie is very dry and trust me it's VERY dry, it is something new. The dialogue touches upon the meaning of art and how a simple dinner or conversation can change our views on things.

Kevin D (fr) wrote: The loudest criticism tends to be that this paean to flower power and love love love hasn't aged well, and it's hard to argue against that. The songs, even those that are particularly catchy, were substantial to the extent that they were controversial; in our anything-goes era, they're less controversial, and the insubstantiality clearer; now we all can tell that the song about sodomy from "Meet the Feebles" is the more groundbreaking of the two songs about sodomy that spring to mind.My boy Forman is, of course, a freakin' pro, so it is dynamically staged and put together, but it's a feel good movie with a (very) contrived downer ending.

Dustin D (ru) wrote: First-time screenwriter Larry Cohen cranked out a lazy sequel to one of the most iconic Westerns of all time, using basically the same formula. This movie can't escape the fact that it is boring most of its screentime, and it's painfully missing Steve McQueen (some nobody is cast as Vin), and couldn't even talk Horst Buchholz into returning as Chico. Elmer Bernstein won an Oscar for the soundtrack, which (as far as I can tell) is the exact same one used in the first film. No new music to match the tone of the scenes in this one. I will concede the finale which employed explosives and stunt actors on horses was impressive, but doesn't make up for the lack of any new ideas.
