Vincent P (es) wrote: There are words... and they're strung into sentences that are then spoken by the characters... but there seems to be a disconnect between the techno-babble spoken and what's actually being presented on screen. So War of the Worlds 2 leaves you to figure out the plot for yourself. I guess there's some nifty ideas present? They're just all squandered by the cheapness and slapdashery of it all.

Bradley J (us) wrote: Donnie Darko is an inventive cult classic. It's concept is smart and Jake Gyllenhaal delivers a great performance, however, not all aspects of the story really mesh together. Darko deals with time travel, the apocalypse, and death in a cold and clinical way. There is no doubt that even when I was scratching my head at how the feature wrapped up, I couldn't deny the thought provoking themes delivered with such daring. So while Donnie Darko is a hard movie to embrace, it is also a difficult movie to shake off and has earned its status as a cult classic. Rating: 66

Reese J (es) wrote: Still one of my favourite guilty pleasure movies. If you've seen even just one episode of CSI you'll be able to pick out the numerous amount of times they would have failed to cover up their mess. 15 years later and I still love watching this movie.
Steve R (de) wrote: This film must be part of some subversive plot to completely waste the time of the American people. Talk about something equivelent to watching flies (insert expletive here)! I thought that the quirkiness director Gilligan brings to the X-Files would translate well on the big screen in other genres. I couldn't have been more wrong.

E L (gb) wrote: It's not the story so much but the imagery, of humans given over to their base instincts in surviving - killing, eating and fucking. All actions are motivated by desires or fear - either from lack of necessities or superstition. Everything is coarse, rough and over the top - but it all serves a purpose to display the raw animalistic passion of the characters.
