Stunning cinematography! Even the cluck-off was pure genius by writer/director/producer, JT Mollner. I've seen a few of his short films and with Outlaws and Angles his indelible talent shines. "Mighty nice." Indeed!

(es) wrote: If you like kids this a good Spike movie for you. Not an ideal film in terms of story or particularly innovative in terms of look and feel, but rather a remembrance with a series of anecdotes woven around key moments from childhood growing up in Brooklyn in 70s. Lots to relate to for someone from my generation. At times quite affecting, and performances are strong. Thematically it's very rich, ranging from role of men and women in family, children and parents, and effects of no-money on family life. Lots to relate to for everyone in this day and age, I think. Kids dancing to Soul Train is hilarious scene. I remember it well.

(kr) wrote: One of the weirdest films I have ever seen, and that's saying something. An odd near-silent fable about a puppeteer taught to animate the dead, William Castle's last film as a director is strange, slow-moving, and doesn't always make sense, but is still pretty jaw-dropping.
(jp) wrote: A cross between melodrama, fantasy and comedy - much better and more timely than I expected it to be. Very enjoyable.
(ru) wrote: Classic comedy, and it is a great laugh-a-minute movie.
