(it) wrote: Djinn is a film that could have offered so much more. The middle eastern setting coupled with the largely unexplored mythos of Djinns would present the audience with an experience with which they would mostly be unfamiliar. Instead, what entertainment value the film has is quickly undercut by an ending that is as cheesy as it is predictable. Add some characters that serve no purpose to the story other to be exposition dumps and then fodder for the Djinn, and you have a film that still leaves all four Wishmasters ( which is not saying much, especially with 3 & 4) as superior films about Djinns. That said, I enjoyed the look off the film and could appreciate the slow burn the film was offering. I also found the lead actress' performance to be quite good. No where near the worst horror film I've ever seen, but no where near the best. 2 1/2 stars

There was a good performance from the entire cast, but sadly that didn't quite save what I thought could have been a much better film.
