Greg B (mx) wrote: "Kevin Hart : What Now" finds our beloved comedian facing a sell out crowd in Philadelphia. He enters a high stakes poker match before his routine only to cross paths with a Russian monster. With the help of Halle Berry, Hart makes a narrow escape and makes it to his show right on time. Hart is a very relevant comedian. His anecdotes are real and he doesn't try to force the humor. I enjoyed his Schtick and his various ramblings about women and minorities. Hart even said a raccoon grabbed its d&&k and disappeared into the dark. For a movie about a comic routine, this film does a marvelous job being captivating and resonant. Not all of Harts films are winners but I enjoyed seeing him let loose in this one --------------------------------------------------------- B

Lucas K (fr) wrote: James Mangold's first feature film, Heavy is a beautifully visual film from start to finish, with most of the emotion internalised and such a introvert protagonist, he still managed to explore loneliness and solitude quite well, very well directed, acted and established him as a serious drama director. Ashamed not many people know this film.
Brett C (ag) wrote: Shinya Tsukamoto's first go at making a mainstream film. Aside from some visual elements here and there, it is almost nothing like his other movies, and has more of the feel of your standard by-the-numbers horror flick. And the soundtrack is terrible. That said, it's still reasonably entertaining, with the aforementioned neat visuals and a bit of goofy humor here and there. It really is like none of his other movies, though, and that's not entirely a good thing...
Allan C (kr) wrote: Brigitte Bardot and Jeanne Moreau are burlesque performers of a sort in the old west and get aught up in a south of the border revolution. The film was written and directed by Louis Malle, so there is a bit of a political subtext, but its mostly all for fun, watching proper Moreau and Bardot fighting the revolution with frocks and parasols. George Hamilton is also part of the revolution. Silly and quite enjoyable.
Alex A (ca) wrote: Whereas it's predecessor is mindless popcorn fun, Mortal Kombat: Annihilation hits rock bottom. The dialogue is even cornier this time around, the story is unengaging and annoyingly self-important, the clothing design quality is at Walgreens Halloween-costume level, the characters are lame and not to mention those horrendous special effects straight out of a SyFy network movie. With that said, plus its soundtrack consisting of bland, jarring techno music, Mortal Kombat: Annihilation is a spit in the face to both fans of the games and cinema in general.
