Screenplay is original and the story is half reality half dream.Lots of good laughs. Also with a good ending like in all Jared Hess movies.

Watching an aging Wayne give cocaine to prostitutes certainly deconstructs his legendary image in novel ways. Still, Strurges directs fairly well even if the film is cynical and confused on many levels.
Jens T (us) wrote: Sergei M. Eisenstein's Ivan the Terrible, Part I, is the biographical epic about the most evil and powerful dictator since Julius Caesar, the russian czar who was so evil that he gave himself the title Ivan the Terrible, so people could fear him and his name. He began concurring large eras and begun the expansion of the Russian empire, and it continued to grow after his death and it's the size of what Russia are today. But his madness and imperialism made the Boyar (aristocrats) very frighten and tries time after times to get him assassinated, but always fails. Part I takes place from his crowning to when he leaves his castle for Moscow so his people can beg him to come back.Ivan the Terrible is a good biographical with a lot of good symbolism and also made in Shakespearian acting. Nikolai Cherkasov's performance in the leading role as Ivan the Terrible is just terrific. The makeup artist also made a good job of making him look scarier and scarier over the years. And also the art direction is also good, and the battle sequence between the russian army and the Tatars in Kazan. Thumbs up.
