Drew M (mx) wrote: 4 Stars. This is one of those films that's impossible for one to turn away from. The lead performance by Kristen Stewart is gripping as all hell and Olivier, the director, seems to be in top form. The screenplay and tone feels fresh and inventive; One of the things I liked most about the film is also it's biggest weakness, the muddled storyline to an otherwise another very perceptive character study. It wants to be and say way too many things with this film that it doesn't work completely as a whole, but I respect the hell out of it. Kristen Stewart has seriously never been better, though. Seriously incredible performance here. You literally wont be able to take your eyes off of her in this. There's a certain confidence in Assayas's directing and writing that I'm always intrigued by everything that is on the screen even if it's not much. Easily, my new favorite duo.

Laura M (kr) wrote: Lots of wasted potential. It was going in an interesting direction until about the 30 minute mark where instead of seeing monsters we got a lot of movie that has come before and fwip went a potentially interesting concept.

Jennifer J (jp) wrote: nice movie. i liked it..True love is like ghosts, which everyone talks about but few have seen - Franois de La Rochefoucauld

Joe E (de) wrote: fantastically insightful documentary that really strips back the main arguments around the churches view on being gay. looking at the often quoted but not regularly understood passages around this issue are really fascinating.

Andrew V (mx) wrote: Not gonna lie, quite a scary film. I mean it's not the worst film I've seen, but it's like a nick jr version of 007 on acid. I mean, in one way the kid actors are okay except for juni, quite a few things don't add up, and on top of that, the cgi is a bit dated. Also(semi-spoiler) there's a scene where the kids are flying with a jet pack through the city and literally no one even takes a look as if nothing was there!! Then again it's just a kids movie, and a weird one at that. Overall, kids will probably enjoy it, and as for me feeling nostalgic and seeing this film again? Well I just don't have a life anymore.

Sarfara A (gb) wrote: This film has got chills to offer you, really the one of most-horror films around. Christopher Lee is superb in this horror film. Loved the ending scenes.

Art S (br) wrote: Susan Strasberg keeps seeing her dead father around the estate after having been away for 10 years - except he is supposed to be very much alive according to her stepmother! With the aid of her father's chauffeur, Strasberg tries to solve the mystery, even as those around her indicate that they are concerned for her sanity. Of course, if her father is really dead, then Strasberg is set to inherit his millions. This provides a motive for doing her in - and her father too - or so she begins to think. It is hard to separate the paranoia from the reality at times in this weird tale from Hammer studios. Director Seth Holt allows stillness and silence to create suspense and absorb the viewer in the potential horror before her or him. Yet something is not quite right in this solid spooky chiller!

Jeff B (gb) wrote: Very good film starring Laurence Harvey as an accountant who just moved into town and wants to marry a wealthy man's daughter, but at the same time he falls in love with the older, married Simone Signoret (in her Oscar winning role). A nice script, though it's a little long it's never boring, and Signoret is indeed wonderful. I also found out that Supporting Actress nominee Hermione Baddeley has the shortest nominated performance ever in this film (though she did do a nice job). Heather Sears got pretty annoying later on ("Do I look different? Do I? Do I? blah blah), but it's still a good movie.

Graydon B (us) wrote: Saw this movie in english class, and it was interesting. Not a great movie, but a powerful one, definetly shows its material well. Again, not that memorable to me, but still pretty good.

Private U (it) wrote: I thought it was the best Valentino film, he acts pretty good (though the whole thing's quite melodramatic), it's an interesting story and Nita Naldi as Dona Sol is greatly snake-like.
