Irvin C (us) wrote: I'm way behind on my Fassbinder and this is one of his more famous works. A lowly occasional gay hustler wins the lottery and acquires new friends and a high-status lover. It's safe to say it's not gonna end well. What's really fascinating about this is that the plot could have just as easily have been an out and out comedy but Fassbinder opts to go for the tragedy of the title character's both good luck, bad luck and poor decisions and being a social misfit. Beautifully shot and acted by a great group of actors headed by Fassbinder himself and Karl Bohm of "Peeping Tom" fame.

Mario M (ru) wrote: Arbitrage is a classy financial thriller that keeps you tense until the very last minute. The elegance with which Richard Gere seems to suffer through hell is worth watching. Susan Sarandon and a very ad hoc soundtrack complete the success.

An imagining of demons, which appear as humans, versus angels, which appear as gargoyles and are much, much fewer in number, into which stumbles lonely, haunted Frankenstein's monster. The demon prince intends to increase the already numerous demons. He has been hoarding 100s of thousands of dead bodies which he intends to animate as soulless vessels for new demon souls to inhabit. There was more to this movie than first meets the eye. About good versus evil. About humanity, loyalty, leadership. I always enjoy higher concepts mixed with syfy / fantasy.
