Diogenes S (jp) wrote: Despite the bullshit of Antonio Bandera's gift of seeing what happened to the missed people, and the incredible failure of being an Argentinean history spoken in English, it is a good film which tells another bloody chapter about the dictatorship in South America.

Kevin R (us) wrote: I don't need pity. I need a paycheck.Erin Brockovich is a single mother with three children that struggles to maintain a job and find sustainable daycare based on her income. She is involved in an accident one day that puts her in touch with a lawyer. The lawyer gives her a job after the case and their lives change forever."As long as I have one ass instead of two, I'll wear what I like."Steven Soderbergh, director of Traffic, Ocean's 11-13, Magic Mike, Haywire, Contagion, Side Effects, Full Frontal, and Solaris, delivers Erin Brockovich. The storyline for this picture is very interesting and relatively unpredictable. I enjoyed the evolution of the characters. The acting was very well done and the cast includes Julia Roberts, Albert Finney, David Brisbin, Dawn Didawick, and Jack Gill."You think if you have no uterus, no breasts, you're actually a woman?"I came across this on HBOGO and had to watch it. This is one of those movies I hadn't seen but felt extremely guilty for having not seen it. This was excellent and a very entertaining and well done picture. I thought Roberts was perfect and this was definitely worth a viewing."I'm smart, I'm hardworking, and I'm not leaving here without a job."Grade: A

Carlos I (it) wrote: Schlocky and amateurish b-movie action fun. Considering the experience and resources that were behind it though, it's pretty damn impressive.

Marco L (ag) wrote: This film is good for a giggle, but should of used more of Sam L. Jackson, would of made the film more credible

Sparky J (it) wrote: A really fun, cute, quirky little film!I think it's one of the few that did the original book justice!(at least as much as I can judge, based on reading / watching these in English, not the origional German).I liked this better than Ende's other work - Neverending story, but that could just be me!I'd like a tortoise who could talk to me with a light up shell!

Ken S (ag) wrote: Blacula is an interesting blaxploitation horror movie, but that doesn't mean that it is that good. It is very 70s, very blaxploitation, but it isn't very horror or scary. It can be fun to watch, but not always. If you are in the mood for this kind of thing then by all means, but don't go in expecting scares.

Jason D (mx) wrote: Loosely adapted from H.P. Lovecraft's superior "Cool Air" story, Chill is about an immortal doctor, who came to be that way after creating a serum he injected himself with, whose skin is not immortal, so he and one of his undead cronies goes out at night to find victims to use their flesh. In comes lead guy, whatever his name was, who suffers from being extremely dull and annoying, especially with that magical beanie hat he wears 95% of the movie. He and new girlfriend Ashley Laurence (Hellraiser I and II) are caught up in the doctor's web of murder as they try to escape his clutches. James Russo phones in a performance as well as a asshole cop/stalker of Ms. Laurence. Overall, very bland film with not very good special effects. Pretty disappointing overall .

Issac L (kr) wrote: I'm a devoted Moore fan, so how could I miss this highly-acclaimed indie film, which directed by the genius Todd Haynes in 1995 and also bestowed her the crown of Queen of indies. SAFE is an unorthodox indiewood member who has a unflinching core which dares to chart the mysterious battle between the body and soul through the dubbed "environmental disease". The concept here is an intrepid self-salvation process, in a world without any certainty, it is what we believe decides our fate, any physical phenomenons have lost all its gauges and canons. A striking truth is that nothing can save a troubled soul. I do find stark pessimism in the film, and which is scarier is that it plunges a tremendous impact on me, which in turn solidifies my brief and proves that certain films could unswervingly employ this sort of manipulative trickery. Moore is laboriously stunning for her role, a delicate doll with a determined will to pursue the cure of her unknown disease, a subtle yet multi-layered interpretation, which reminds me of a saying that "a lonely person should be disgraceful", until she eventually found the place where existed her idem genus. In the very end, she just cannot go back to her normal social life and only could survive by shielding herself inside a new egg-shaped "clean" room where she can dwell in forever. I consider the film as a modern-day allegory, it challenges its audience to face a wretched circumstance - the insecurity of our carnal figure and the lost identity of any classification. In my opinion, the gritty singularity of ourselves is the cradle of the evil side of religion, one of mine catchphrases is that: Don't be swayed easily by those around you, by what you hear and what they say; adjust yourself in a placid mode, the one who knows you best is yourself, and is yourself only. Technically speaking, the film deploys a post-apocalypse palette and a brittle score to embody an almost horrorfest-like shtick, Todd Haynes is an authentic auteur who has gut to surprise his devotees.
