Bruce20 W (jp) wrote: Terrible movie is a step down from AUJ, and confirms our suspicion that PJ's Hobbit will be awful.

Adele H (nl) wrote: Something is rotten in the States of America............

Andy T (kr) wrote: Powerful, unforgettable, and absolutely heartbreaking, Requiem For A Dream finds Darren Aronofsky at his best, pulling out spectacular performances from Ellen Burstyn, Jared Leto, and Jennifer Connelly, sending out a warning about the dangers of drugs and modern media.

Latifa M (ca) wrote: A tragic love story based on famous hungarian suicide song: also known as Gloomy Sunday. I've always loved the Elvis Costello's version of Gloomy Sunday but to hear it in pure melody: just delightful. Makes a beautiful movie.

Private U (mx) wrote: An inaccurate anti-religious screed, but probably good filmmaking.

David A (au) wrote: (from The Watermark, 10/26/97) Playing God casts David Duchovny as a noble surgeon who has lost his license because of drug abuse. Mobster Timothy Hutton becomes aware of his situation, and pressures Duchovny to work for him and save the lives of injured criminals. Duchovny, badly in need of money to support his habit, acquiesces. Realizing he is up to no good, Duchovny jumps to the other side and goes under cover for the FBI to help catch Hutton, and bag a pretty moll who has caught his eye. And he manages to kick his drug habit, too. The film tries to be a stylish black comedy-thriller, but reeks of being a third rate Tarantino wannabe. The story is flimsy and predictable, and Duchovny and Hutton are both terribly miscast. Duchovny's cool deadpan is much less accessible when he's not surrounded by aliens and spaceships. Hutton's bleach blond bad guy tries to be frightening and crazy, but comes off like a little boy throwing a temper tantrum. For those of you who appreciate Duchovny's sexiness because of his intelligence, you won't find any more skin here than you do on the X-Files. David, baby, you've got a good thing going on TV. Ride that wave as long as you can.

Timeen (gb) wrote: Love watching this very mild/comedy of family life after couples divorce or get seperated

Jackson C (gb) wrote: Despite it's flaws I will always love and enjoy this film. It's magical, sugar sweet, warm and filled with good hearted soul. Helen Slater was perfectly casted as Supergirl in a movie that is just simply fun to watch. Great 80s cheese that never takes itself too seriously.

Jose Luis M (ru) wrote: Me gusto mucho la banda sonora de Henri Mancini

Dan M (kr) wrote: This movie was not bad, but it wasn't great either. It was fun and silly. I love Seth MacFarlane, even if he's not at his best. I like the concept of the film and liked the modern humor and references thrown in to this period piece, but it was super predictable and always felt like it was lacking a little something. It was close to being good, but it never quite elevated above.

Dylan R (de) wrote: Had potential, and is an enjoyable movie if you're in the mood for something mellow and somewhat meaningful. It has a good message at its core but don't go into it expecting an exciting and thrilling western.Beautiful cinematography, slow moving plot, good message. Pacing is the issue and its drawn out and boring at times

Tim G (mx) wrote: A funny movie with a bunch of great characters. My favorite character was FBI Special Agent Mike Downey (Matthew Modine).

Vijay L (kr) wrote: This adaptation of a Forsyth novel has nothing much to recommend for itself. Christopher Walken gives a ridiculously intense performance.

James H (nl) wrote: Been there, done that scenario. Most of the movie is copied from other movies so it obviously lacks originality. The acting is fine at least. Good score. Not much else to recommend.
