Abb J (mx) wrote: About Alex: Constructed as a modern day twenty-somethings answer to The Big Chill, this painfully self-absorbed film, about a group of college friends who reunite for a weekend reunion following the failed suicide attempt by one of them, lacks the compelling story or character development needed to make viewers give a damn about any of them. Instead it just feels like a bunch of pretentious, self-absorbed brats sitting around being annoying. D

Patrick W (es) wrote: If you took the greatness of the first 300 film, watered it down, added Greek ships but still managed to toss in some good female nudity, you'd get this film. Not nearly as good as the first one, but still fairly entertaining if you have nothing to do on a rainy afternoon besides folding laundry.

JP M (us) wrote: A delightful story of gay men and their mothers! It's truly a funny and true story of men and women before their wedding day. Each story connected, and it showed how same we all are, in our families and how we love in the end! Wish i could have seen more...

Andrew B (gb) wrote: Chuck Norris turns into a bear, then a hawk, then a wolf, all while in the process of saving kids from evil industrialist lumberjacks. That's an honest synopsis of this movie...no additional witty comments can do it justice.

Sandy R (gb) wrote: An incoherent and badly paced mess with a threadbare plot that's as predictable as it is uninteresting. The pace is agonisingly slow and the disjointed transitions are so jarring that it feels like three different movies spliced into one. Alice Krige's performance is one of the best things about the film. Other notable things are the music score, Dick Smith's special makeup effects and the cinematography by Jack Cardiff. A few scenes are actually well staged and quite effective, but no amount of rubber masks or nudity can make up for the film's shortcomings. There's a lack of tension, suspense and genuine threat but the most frustrating thing is the film's ability to appear so muddled and have no sense of direction. When we do finally reach the back story, which feels like a belated melodrama, the actions of the characters are extremely implausible and the film finally fizzles out, amounting to little more than a snooze fest.
