Jayakrishnan R (de) wrote: 81%Saw this on 8/8/16In this semi-biographical film Jean Claude Van Damme acts up a storm and his monologue about his past life is extremely heartfelt. Though the film takes some time to be engaging, it gets entertaining and unpredictable as time passes.
Jim A (gb) wrote: In the hands of a better filmmaker Sandra Bullock's character in this movie could have been a fantastic character study of needy and mentally unstable women. But in the hands of the hacks who made this movie it is just a creepy and it lacks self awareness of the main protagonists sad behavior. Imagine if the genders on Mary and Steve were reversed then stalking wouldn't be portrayed as funny and charming. Though I give this movie a little credit for not having the characters get together in the end but that's not much

Will Ferrel and his basket ball team danced while wearing childish costumes to entertain the spectators pre-game. With the ever lovable Will Ferrel wrestling with a real brown bear, and a story of underdogs basket ball team rising to the challenge, this is quite an entertaining comedy.

James H (au) wrote: 44/100. On the plus side, it doesn't take itself seriously. The acting is fair. It's main flaw is a complete lack of originality and contains so many cliches. It is sporadically entertaining, but not often enough to make it good. It's just too predictable.

Eber N (jp) wrote: Since our childhood cinema has been part of our lives, we were absorbed by it from the beginning and we did not remove anyone, no matter which generation we belong to, whatever our favorite genres, although some movies we like and others disappoint us, passionate about cinema, excites us and makes us happy, what better way to explain if not seeing this colossal masterpiece and ultimate love letter to cinema.
Christopher B (jp) wrote: I've had quite the time with this one. When I first saw this I hated it ("This is nothing like Evil Dead!") but I keep returning to it like an abused spouse. Now, I quite like it. A lot actually. It's a bizarre film that rarely makes logical sense, but if you let yourself get into it, it can be a hell of a lot of fun. Great visuals and gore make it easy to see why genre fans call this the "Japanese Argento film". Now if only I could get into Argento....

Matt C (it) wrote: Remind yourself of when Tarantino was almost effortlessly at the top of his game. The film is still too long and has too many characters but when the dialogue is this good you really don't mind them overstaying their welcome. The plot in itself is relatively simple so the Leonard adaptation angle is irrelevant but the performances are all spot on. Really great.
