Django

Django

Django is a 1966 Italian spaghetti Western film directed by Sergio Corbucci and starring Franco Nero in the eponymous role. The film earned a reputation as being one of the most violent films ever made up to that point and was subsequently refused a certificate in Britain until 1993, when it was eventually issued an 18 certificate. Subsequent to this the film was downgraded to a 15 certificate in 2004. Although the name is referenced in over thirty "sequels" from the time of the film's release until the mid 1980s in an effort to capitalize on the success of the original, none of these films were official, featuring neither Corbucci nor Nero. Nero did reprise his role as Django in 1987's Django 2: Il Grande Ritorno (Django Strikes Again), in the only official sequel to be written by Corbucci.

A coffin-dragging gunslinger enters a town caught between two feuding factions, the KKK and a gang of Mexican Bandits. That man is Django, and he is caught up in a struggle against both parties. . You can read more in Google, Youtube, Wiki

Lasse L (jp) wrote: Beautiful filming (and I don't refer to Lapland's landscape only) and touching moments. How have they managed to make these men tell these stories?

Bob P (nl) wrote: In one word, Charming. This is one of the most clever animated films I've seen in quite some time. The animation is beautiful and the story is well-constructed. I haven't played any of the Professor Layton video games but, seeing, this, I already love the main characters.

Alexander W (de) wrote: This is a pretty good movie. I've been watching a few Asian movies at the moment and fit right in there. Its a quite clever story that I have not heard or seen before and I enjoyed it. If only the acting was more improved and the special effects directing was not at all jaw dropping.

Sterlin R (kr) wrote: The only "Scary Movie" film that was watchable. It's not bad nor good, but it does have some funny scenes and the acting was decent.

Yasmin T (us) wrote: I like them together :)

Khaled H (br) wrote: a breathtaking thriller, fast, shocking and full of surprises, Washington was marvelous as usual

Michael S (es) wrote: It's like one really long, terrible music video (poorly shot, too much slo-mo, bad use of sound/music). A waste of some good actors.

Grant S (es) wrote: Original setting, and that's it. Had heaps of potential, but went nowhere. Good cast - Billy Bob Thornton, John Cusack, Cate Blanchett, Angelina Jolie - do their best with a rather dud script.

Berenice V (kr) wrote: No la he visto pero esa caricatura es clasica del once!! que recuerdos

Mandela W (it) wrote: 1986's Mona Lisa is the story of George a middle aged gangster who is released from prison. he is keen to get himself a job in the criminal underworld but pickings are slim and he assigned as a driver for a mysterious prostitute named Simone. As the story unfolds we come to find that Simone is hiding some major secrets and it causes further stress for George who is also trying to reestablish a relationship with his daughter whom he hasn't seen in sometime. So I must say this was pretty good. It shows a darker side of England that we normally don't see from british films set in modern day. It was a nicely written story that gets pretty complex. It had a decent ending that was satisfactory. This is very different from the bob Hoskins I was introduced to. he plays a really temperamental guy looking to be be more in the criminal world but his options are slim and he is by chance thrown into quite a situation. Terrific performance here from the late actor. The chemistry between Hoskins and Cathy Tyson was really intriguing they played out an interesting relationship on camera. Cathy Tyson herself did a tremendous job. she plays a really mysterious call girl who's story catches your curiosity more and more you see her. she's also really gorgeous. Good editing and also I liked the directing here from neil Jordan. beautiful music especially the mona lisa song, very well done soundtrack. This movie gets a nice 3 1/2 out of 5 stars from me. go check it out

Donald McKinney (kr) wrote: Ken Russell rides again, this time he's in familiar territory with another film about one the great classical composers. This one is about Gustav Mahler (Robert Powell), the Austrian composer who, now an old man on a train journey with his wife Alma (Georgina Hale), looks back upon his life, and all the struggles he faced in it, whether it be his conversion from Judaism to Catholicism, because of anti-semitism, his troubled childhood and his brother killing himself. As expected from Ken Russell, it has his usual touches of madness, (the religion conversion is Nazi themed), but for a film made on a shoestring budget, it is beautifully shot and Ken gets the best out of his locations, (Cumbria's Lake District doubles for Bavaria), which would be used again for Russell's next film, Tommy (1975), which Powell also appeared in. Oh, and Oliver Reed makes an uncredited cameo as a station conductor, it also brings out the best in Mahler's music...

Allan C (gb) wrote: William Holden is a widower in the old west with a young son. He then hires a young woman, Loretta Young, as a something of a wife/indentured servant hybrid. Robert Mitchum plays Holden's wandering minstrel friend, who visits from time to time, and a love triangle developes between the three. It's a fairly simple pioneer love story, but all three stars are terrific. I've never been much a Loretta Young fan, but she was quite good in this film, so I'm going to have to give her another chance next time TCM shows one of her films.

Paxton A (it) wrote: Not many movies begin with the implicit question "How much must I hate myself today?" The answer to that question is A Haunted House.

Peter P (ca) wrote: This was one of my favorite movies when I was growing up. It was funny, had great characters, was filmed in Toronto, and I totally wanted to be Mahonney growing up. Classic, a complete classic.

Barry T (br) wrote: Some genuinely funny moments and catchy songs...if you switch your brain off for 90mins then its good for a laugh.

Marjon O (au) wrote: Very well done and fascinating to understand human nature.

Cathy N (us) wrote: fun, fun fun! Love the addition of Tony Randall in this cast.
