Tierney W (au) wrote: Mind boggling. I would recommend watching the Paradise Lost series of films in addition to this because you get a fuller picture of exactly how completely fucked up the entire situation was, but there are some truly shocking moments of clarity in this film.

Michael D (gb) wrote: fabulous: creepy and amusing in just the right measures. but very tender and affecting. just a fascinating story. well done diego luna!

Kamoflage Kween (au) wrote: This movie is amazing. I feel like this is the way my friendships were when I was that age.

Alex B (gb) wrote: The drudgery and loneliness, the oppression/repression, exploitation, and alienation, at work, at home, at leisure, (and of course best of all by far the revenge!) of a working class young woman under capitalism.

Laura H (ag) wrote: A beautifully constructed movie which perfectly marries the genres of drugs thriller and quirky love story. Burt Lancaster is superb as Lou, an aged old man looking back on the days of the gangsters of legend such as Al Capone with rose tinted goggles. Susan Sarandon is also wonderful as Sally, the casino croupier who dreams of a life in Monaco and whose life is interrupted by the unexpected arrival of her estranged husband and her pregnant sister. A tender tale which doesn't let up from beginning to end.

Ross V (gb) wrote: Effective, despite a lack of plot. Very well directed, keeps you interested without much plot, character or dialogue. It's as if the same eerie force present at Hanging rock beckons the audience as well.

Red L (es) wrote: I watched all the way through this movie before I found out that the "child" in this movie was Helen Mirren. Who knew she was young once. Actually I didn't like the movie that much. I would have preferred that the painter stayed true to his art and not thrash around with the kid at the end.

Dave doesn't follow his associate's advice but may quickly wish he had..."What are intellectuals?""Over paid."Vincente Minnelli, director of Gigi, Some Came Running, Home from the Hill, The Band Wagon, Father of the Bride, The Clock, and Cabin in the Sky, delivers Same Came Running. The storyline for this picture is very interesting and carried by its dynamic main character portrayed by Sinatra. The cast also includes Dean Martin, Shirley MacLain, Martha Hyer, Arthur Kennedy, and Nancy Gates."Not much grass on a busy street."I came across this on Netflix during a recent update where they uploaded a bunch of Sinatra films. I added them all to my wish list. This was very entertaining and well done and I loved how Sinatra delivered his performance. This isn't perfect but is worth your time if you're the fan of the classics."What's on your mind, if anything?"Grade: B-
